Uh, this is a free and open source project. Where did you pay for this?

I'm guessing here:
http://www.appbrain.com/app/the-mana-wo ... edibox.tmw
We don't support 3rd party platform extensions afaik.
I'm guessing here...there are source code issues maybe...
The author should provide this to you under the GPL license... regardless of the vendor...that way you can fix it.
or get a refund.
Better still download our client and try it on your PC to really see what your android issues may be!

Selling free open source software for $1.37? What a ripoff. Although not illegal: The GPL allows you to charge what you want for the distribution. It would, however, be illegal to sell it without including a copy of the GPL and without offering the sourcecode.
Antman91: when you bought that app, where you informed that it is including software licensed under the GNU General Public License and where you can get the sourcecode of the app? When you were not, you got ripped off.
Well, the website above says that the app is not available anymore. Seems like someone notifies them that the app violates the GPL. I would still be interested in seeing the android versions sourcecode though, because judging from the description it didn't run well but at least it ran and had the potential to be made playable by investing some love into it. Having a free open source android port of the Mana client would be really cool.

There was a bunch of legal stuff but
The seller right away said it wasnt an offical
Port or watever and when I downloaded it I had ti run app theb download 40 mb of game data wich was a small price ti pay for wat I was able to play. It featured a custom droid user on screen key board it was a lil slow for chat
But not unplayable I hope its rereleased it was awsome.

Oh cool, we had an Android port?
Someone should try to contact the developer and ask for his patches.
Selling free open source software for $1.37? What a ripoff.
Not really. I imagine porting TMW to an mobile device done right (i.e. resizing all the graphics, creating a good gui, implementing a multitouch interface) is very time-intensive and hard work, so its alright to want money for that! I paid even more for a iOS Wesnoth port - the developer released the source though.
Not everyone wants to work for free and I think you pay for the porting work, not for the game itself.
edit: BTW, the app is still on the official android market, but its free. Maybe you got ripped off by this AppBrain site or Cpasjuste changed the price. If you want to contact him write him at
cpasjuste@gmail.com
edit2: The port is great, with a big configuration process in the beginning how you want to handle input for the vast amount of android phones and other stuff.

tracking down all 9001 dependancies to compile it on android is a feat in and of itself.
