Brainstorming: Event Master

Hello to all

I would like to introduce a brainstorming in this Player Talk

Word: Event Master

actually we have a huge GM team (and huger when Prsm gets inside :) )
This team has brought ideas in game and gave some life in this tmw.
I say new ideas when they are good have to be digged and developed

reason why i open that topic

what would be the EM definition:

Role?
Serv Power?
Rules?
Type of events?
Frequency?
outfit?

Please feel free to write any pros and cons about this
Please always respect countrary ideas
Please this is not a topic made to criticate but to work on an idea
so i requiere a strong moderation on this topic regarding possible personal attacks to GM, Devs, Group leaders
if you want to troll or if you want toattack someone go elsewhere thanks
Topic is to go further in this idea Gm started to introduce

In some days i'll make a résumé of ideas thrown in here in order to start getting a clearer view on the subject

You already have great ideas IMO! However, I don't think we need an Event Master, GMs already do spawn parties. We only want Platyna to make once again these trivia and to give rare items!

I don't have an idea what an event master should be, but I have some ideas what an event master should not be.

-A person to beg to for free stuff
-A source of items which are supposed to be unavailable
-An easy way to get stuff which is supposed to be hard to acquire
-Personal servant of guilds to do their events

I dont think i quite agree with the EM Idea.
As ali-g said we already have GM's that host spawn partys, also we have a couple guilds that host events from time to time such as the holy mana clan and the crew of red corsair who hosts great events for all players with wonderful prizes to be earned by people.

Sorry Ze, you know i like new ideas just i think this one would be one more burden and bring negativity towards Tmw. And truly i dont think its needed. Not having a event master encourages clans to have events for tmw.

But hay this is my opinion towards it, anyone feel free to give theirs. :wink:

this is a post of brainstorming
it is not a new idea i have
it is a reflexion on the figure of event master
it is not a post to criticate current system

i never said that GM don't do their part in the serv life
i never said that there are no guilde or clan or society or crew that never do nothing
i never express any criticism on what they do, how hey do it
and so on

it is a topic free, open to any opinion of what a Event Master should be or not should be... rereed first post please

It would indeed "steal" guild's job, instead of a EM I'd enforce guild's role in the game, but that's a bit off topic...
Anyway, starting from Ze's idea we can find something useful for the game :)

Having a EM could provide benefits.

For instance GM's are great at running events when they are on but if there are those with duties focused on events then it gives additional opportunities for the GM's to participate and feel for the game while they GM.

If players know of a specific GM/EM they should be working with it might improve the lines of communication and allow for events that might be considered a challenge without them.

I do think that Guilds making use of an EM would be appropriate, yes there would need to be some limits in place. There needs to be a discourse on how guilds would make use of an EM.

As for outfit I suggest a brown robe and ball cap, to signify that they are poor(closest to rags I can think of) or Crown purple robe and staff to suggest they are rich. They are either magically imbued with the power to distribute wealth to others or have excessive wealth they are trying to share.

Why does everyone think that events are about throwing valuable items around?

What about roleplay-oriented and story-driven events?

just throwing some ideas :

GM Global anouncement Candor for instance and even spawning mobs are based on some parts of calling warriors to defeat monsters invading one part or another (100 % in hurnscal)

developping a figure of EM might bring to the game events that would relate to The Mana World history, with role play, pvping between guilds or any other event that would fit to one goal

to give a soul to the game

good thing we talk about guilds that have everything to develop
good thing we talk about all this to open new ways

EM figures is not to replace the Clan event or guild event why would they do so ? it would be against the game development

quests and events as xmas and so on are here and get players items
mobs get player items
are we only fighting for items?
isn't there more to do in the game?

in mp a friend said to me :)
"why not a guiding tour for newbies" "come see our jack0's yetis and zombies"
i added "yeah a vit stat 99 for 30 minuts for a tour in one part of the word ! :)))"

I like the idea of them but they can be even more challenging to organize to get an atmosphere in place.

I've enjoyed role playing aspects being made a part of all the areas in the game, especially things like spawn parties and player hunts.

Perhaps a stackable token would be a better "prize" for some things. Unfortunately, there is no in game way of keep ones own notes. There could be more updates to the news that is loaded on client boot or maybe a town crier. Currently gaining expensive stuff seems a prime goal more small changes, even just the news can get people asking, What's on now? and What's happening next?

I just thought of nice way to introduce a new map area, have the entry point overrun with high level monsters until some group achievement is accomplished, could be defeating the monsters them selves a la candor(but i am thinking more monsters than several level 99 will survive) or could be some magic related quest like 30,000,000 of each herb to the nature mage in the forest. With the second it provides an opportunity to give regular updates about progress and mile marker celebrations. Is it possible to make monsters that will not respawn, if so it could be an ongoing siege.
