When you have a complaint about a game master you can either contact Platyna when you would like your complaint to be handled confidential or you can post on the forum when you would like your complaint to be handled in public.

As normal you need to learn the rules. The complaint was made public against Big Crunch, why do you hurry to hide it??

From the link you cited: "The Game Masters are resposible for upholding the game rules. They can be identified by the red cap reading "GM" and their highlighted character name (red or green)."

About the event discussed: I think tofi is deliberately hiding what happened before, and I will certainly not form an opinion before I know what.

Okay, without being rude about this, I don't even remotely see how this is something that needs a discussion.

1 - The issue in question was tofi's to complain about, and as was told to him, it either wasn't reported to a GM or a GM was not online, and screenshots are not sufficient evidence to get someone in trouble.

2 - Whether the player happens to be an alt of a GM or not, GMs are allowed to play as alts, and when they do they're considered the same as any other player. Unless Belgarath happened to use GM commands to harass tofi, then there's really no issue. A player apparently insulted another player, who may or may not have deserved it, and as far as I heard it wasn't witnessed by a GM so there was no warning involved. GMs aren't exactly paid by the hour, and while they're encouraged to be present when they can, I don't believe they're obligated to act as GM at any time they witness an issue in game on an alt.

This is honestly coming off as a personal problem with the GMs, or the one in question, rather than outrage at breaking of the rules. The whole point of GMs playing on alts, that I've heard, is to be able to play and not deal with people complaining to them all the time. So why bring in rules about dealing with GM complaints, when the player he is complaining about was not acting as GM at the time?

okay is this for real, we are complaining about an alt of a gm, calling someone a douche bag? Really!

I get called 10x as bad being a gm, and i cant do anything about it because its not against the rules!

A GM knowingly breaking the rules they enforce on others, is every ones business.

I will be locking this forum, and before the uproar comes, here is the reasoning ....

We have an accusation against a player, backed up with a screen shot! Screen shots have never been
allowed since they can be faked (past precedent supports this), therefore all we have is an accusation!
Since no GM was there to support the accusation, this discussion is futile!

and only because I know its coming, until anyone can show me in forums that Belgarath past the gm voting process,
it will stay locked (alts are just that alts!)

Point of process which wasn't resolved. A screenshot may not be evidence, but it was a report that something (may of) occurred. GMs don't need to be around for someone to submit a problem. It is definitely not futile to make such reports when GMs aren't around. If the accusation is against a GM, which seems to be the case, then handling it privately with Platyna is the next step.

These reports are not for people to abuse and turn trivial events into attempts to cause drama with the game, with other players and/or with GMs.

This is a trivial issue.
