Hi!

My name is Victor, i´m an informatics student. I just came here a few days ago by a friend of mine. I was looking for a way of using sockets in my little games, and my friend told me about you.

I´m developing classes and other stuff, OpenGL related (2D/3D) and general programming (all free). I also have some knowledge about pixel art, but i´m far from a real artist. I´m just an amateur.

Currently i´m quite busy, but i started a time ago a Ragnarok Online clone, with no name yet. I think your work is impressive.

I´ll help you in some sprite developement, surely when i´m not too busy. I also would like to use some of your sprites if you allow me to do so. I´ve read about the issue in the forums, but it´s not clear for me. Do i have to ask permission to every artist for every sprite, or just take it and release it under the GPL is enough?

Nothing more, have fun :)

See you

My question is are all the sprites and grafics etc. also licensed under the GPL?

Everything in the official release can be considered GPL. But i would be careful with stuff on the forum or the wiki. some graphics might be examples from other sources. And we also catched some people who tried to impress us with stolen stuff from commercial projects.

We encourage everyone to tell us when they use our stuff for their gpl project and we always like to read our names in a credits file. but the gpl doesn't force you to do this.

but note that this only counts for gpl projects. when you want to publish your project under a different license you have to ask the artist for permission (and you might not get the permission when the artist doesn't feel like supporting your project).

As always, new pixel artists are more than welcome.
At the moment, you could contact Platyna, she'd like to have some retouches done to our arena tileset.

Indeed, I posted here: http://forums.themanaworld.org/viewtopic.php?t=1277
I am not an artist, so all I require for this map is to look nice and work well, so you may let your imagination to be free and prove your skills.

Contact me for details, eg. via PM.

Regards.
