possible bug

okay i have high defense and when i'm fighting an enemy and only taking like 1 damage or 2 say for example green slimes can't do more than 2 damage then all of a sudden my hp drops by 30 points while i'm fighting what's up with that ? i apologize in advance if this has been brought up before but i looked. Granted i am human so i do make mistakes.

perhaps the enemy made a critical hit (critical hits ignore the defence).

I've noticed this too.Usually it happens when my internet connection is busy with something else.I think it's just lag.You dont see all the hits the monster does.

if its a critical hit then why don't it show the damage the hit did though

I don't know this, but I have a hunch that in RO protocol the critical hits send a "show critical hit gfx" signal to the client, our client doesn't react to that afaik. Just as we don't have anything for showing "multiple hits collective damage" the double hit skill or multibolt spells in RO do.
