I think the idea is:

• if it happens to players, it is within the rules of the game.
• only the authorized bots are protected.

for 1 thing, this is not a discussion forum.

Auctionbot is not an authorized bot, it is player controlled like your Right Click & Buy. ManaMarket is an authorized bot and therefore offers protections a normal player/seller char cannot. Items like the Black Rose that turn to Dark Petals are able to be posted for sale there.

This is NOT a rules violation. Doing magic in a building is perfectly legal, as it is in town.

Now because this is not a discussion forum, this topic will be locked again. Please do not post another one in this forum section.

This is explained on that wiki page.
"Friendly bots have to be authorized by the 'Group Holding Power' before they may connect to the server. Like TMW, friendly bots should be free software."

AuctionBot is a great feature in the game, but as I understand it, it was not officially reviewed and approved by the server admins.

In this case, I believe the result is that the AuctionBot character can be killed. Of course, that doesn't affect its functionality.

You can read in wiki that that is the list of active authorized bots since auctionbot is included in the list, for my understanding it's approved.
I'd like that the administrators would clarify this point, thank you.

The way you phrased that request sounds like you're just looking to stir up conflict. The authorization process is to assist the admins and has no bearing on gameplay or us players.

If you're honestly asking for clarification because you'd like to create a bot and want to learn more about the process, I suggest you ask on IRC. Be prepared to explain what valuable functionality you believe you can add to the game.

I'd just like to say... People are way too uptight lately. If the only way you can think to respond to a joke or something silly in game is to make multiple forum topics complaining about it, then you obviously just want to start trouble. If it had bothered you so much, you had the options of whispering the players in question (if I'm not afk I respond to whispers quite fast usually) and asking why we were doing that, or to ask us to stop. After that, you also could have tried whispering a GM, but they would just tell you that it's not in fact abuse.

Considering you (Venezuela) seemed to be playing as Buy-Here from those screenshots, I find it funny that you're complaining about AuctionBot being killed. It sounds more like you're annoyed that your own shop can be killed, but assuming it's about AuctionBot for real...

On the wiki, AuctionBot is listed as a "semi-authorized bot". From asking around, it seems that AuctionBot is allowed in game, but is not fully authorized to the point that it is afforded protection from the admin. Authorized bots can be afforded some form of protection if they need it, and since AuctionBot has not as of yet been made unkillable, and no admins have added to this topic agreeing with you, I can only assume that the wiki is accurate on the subject.

Last, me being "up for GM" has nothing to do with this particular situation. I was not breaking any game rules, and since an authorized bot would very likely be protected against being killed, the fact that AuctionBot can be killed is proof enough that it is not fully authorized. If gnurfk or an admin would like to clarify, that would be fine.

Alright, i was way too much generic i rephrase it:

Since AuctionBot can run in the server and since the rule of no bots still exists it means that the bot is approved, you wrote:

This make us think, according to your sentence, that instead there is a non approved bot [not ufficially approved by the admins sounds like not approved to me] that is running in the server, which means that the admins allow not approved bots in contrast with the no bots rule [2. No bots (and by botting I mean ANY AFK activity in game).].
Actually you made this very confusing.

Also what does it mean semi-authorized bot? this is very confusing too. Something can be authorized or not, semi-authorizations are made to cover gray points in rules and\or laws.

It's quite easy to understand that i posted here in public forum for everyone to see, in irc i would be the only one to read the reply, quite easy to understand.

AuctionBot is not approved, as you said, so can be killed.
ManaMarket is approved so it cannot be killed.

The client, at least ManaPlus, doesn't let to right click dead players, rather annoying, so the only easily usable tradebot left will be: ManaMarket, i leave to the readers the conclusion.

I am sorry to tell you guys, you cannot be objective both of you are part of the Phoenix Council guild, i would rather like to see posts from someone external. Mine was a simple question, since you don't know how to reply you start to call me troll or change the wiki to fix your mistakes, once again as the last time i am starting to think that i won't have a simple reply. Quite sad.

even though your post is a nice wall of tl;dr hairsplitting of Chocolate Cupcake that no one Duck cares about, i read it, and for some reason felt the urge to reply. you can right click dead players with manaplus. hit f11, open social tab's main tab, right click their name.
as for authorization / non authorization: phoenix council put in the code for review with the ghp and waited 3 weeks for authorization. it's my understanding that they have never seen the code for auctionbot.

also please die in a fire while bitching that it is too hot and that greenhouse gases are bad for the environment.

I did that because Big Crunch asked me to delete AuctionBot from the Authorized Bots page. I decided that a Semi-authorized category was needed.

It should be noted that the wiki is managed by volunteers from the community in addition to the admin, just because it's written on the wiki doesn't mean it's valid.

So.. what exactly are you hoping to achieve with these posts?

You'd like AuctionBot banned?
You'd like protection for your shop?
You'd like AuctionBot protected?
You'd like ManaMarket to be killable?
You'd like ManaMarket banned?
You'd like disable magic within Hurnscald?
You'd like to alter the process for code review?
You'd like to clarify terminology used through the TMW project?
You'd like to learn to use your client to its fullest capabilities?
You'd like to die in a fire while bitching that it is too hot and that greenhouse gases are bad for the environment?

I'm slightly confused.
