I can't listen to it right now because I'm in the office. I hope it's not based on the Bing Crosby song "White Christmas", because that one isn't in the public domain yet (It's the best selling single of all time, by the way).

I really like it but therevare notes in there that only dogs can hear. If you could bring down the volume on the higher pitched bells I think it might mesh better overall. The high pitched notes over power the lower pitched ones

@crush LOL its not based on that sadly :P sorry to dissapoint you x]

@bigcrunch i tried turning down the bells a bit but they are quite loud =/ i cant turn them down without redoing the whole song again. X_X but i did notice they are louder then they acctually are if your using VLC player. I use Final Media player for .ogg files...it makes them sound like what they acctually are. Im not sure why VLC does this to the song.
I guess ill have to redo the bells though.

Cheers!

Yes, the bells definitely have overtones which are higher than the pain threshold.

It's not the volume, it's the pitch. Putting them an octave lower or running them through a lowpass filter could fix them.

i'm not so sure its not the volume, but definitely something makes me want to run screaming naked through the streets. But it could just be the alcohol. :P

Personal thoughts:
  • The beginning is the same for too long.
  • The end is to delete, I think this "new" instrument at the end doesn't fit at all the resy of the music.
However, this is amazing, still,

as for the begining i dont think ill be changing it its about 19 seconds long but it still fits the setting. Which is not bad for a 2 minute track. If the track was shorter id understand :P

Cheers :P

Think the opening's fine also, but personally sounds like the levels of the bells could still come down. They might seem low on the dB counter, but their frequency range seems to be at the point where the human ear perceives it as louder than it technically is. If you pull it back 4-6dB, you'll probably have plenty more space in the mix too

I like the last section, but agree about the sound choice, it seems heavy compared to what's come before; it'd be worth a shot at previewing instruments such as logdrum, xylophone or glockenspiel?

Apart from those two points, very nice little track to me :)
