It seems that "follow mode" is considered botting and will get you banned.

No more following stacks in the gy!!

I think the next rules should be like this:
1."If you kill 20 monsters and don't say a word you are a bot and therefore you must be banned"
2."If your name does not make any sense, you are clearly a botting tool and should be banned"
3."If you play more than 3 hours without logging off you are a bot and should be banned"

if your name is MrWho your are bot and must be banned

Now online players will go from 50 to 15

if you have more than 2 alt, you are bot and must be banned with all your alts

This is not a joke, Big Crunch announced it on Global Announcements!

Just as my alt was strating to get somewhere....

Acctually this is true, the Feature "Auto Follow" on manaplus or any client is illegal now Due to major stacks in the graveyard.
Sad but true.

i never used different clients and stuff... what does this auto follow do that lead to its banning? :/ care to inform newbies here?

It follows another char and attacks the same target they attack. It was very useful if you had many chars because you could level all of them.
I have no idea why this would lead into a ban. I don't think Platyna came with this idea and I fear I know who is behind this.

I think now botters will still use the bot client BUT won't use it's follow feature.

So all this stupid rule does is stop bot stacks and not botting itself.

come to think of it, i've seen several chars with about the same name running around lol. i thought "what a dedicated party lol moving at same pace all the time". thanks for the info

just example that i found today:

noobplayer: where is bank?
PlayerA: ah follow me, err.. but dont autofollow ok!
noobplayer: ...
me: lol

So now a GM would take a screeny and say: "Player X was banned for following"

How can you tell someone is following someone else from a screeny?

I think in this case a movie clip would prove a player was following. If this doesn't happen then they can ban anyone and blame it on "following".

that's definitely not really explaining things... you can have a bot check area to check for bot behaviour, but case of "following"... in my opinion, unless GM witnesses the "following", there's nothing much that they can do, right?

you have a point there. but i don't think anyone would go the distance to record a video...

I think the rule isn't made to prevent botting, but to prevent certain people make 10-noob mantrains running around one person to torment her and piss GM-s off.
I think it pisses off GM-s and make them feel powerless more than stack botting.

Proving someone's following is impossible though.
