The great typo hunt

This topic is a place to collect small spelling and grammatical errors that, individually, are not worth making a commit about, but they could be fixed in a big lot, or during other fixes to the script

For maximum usefulness to the developers, post a git diff (not a git format-patch like we usually want).

It would be slightly less useful if only the file/line of the change were posted.

If you are unable to do that, at least post the exact map name and coordinates of the NPC (stand on top of it and use /where)

In some cases, the correction is obvious, but if in doubt, provide the corrected text as well. Of course, if you submit a patch as we would prefer, this is moot.

Hi,

do you want translation mistakes in this thread as well?

I think there's one translation mistake within the stats...

Dex(terity) is called "Ausdauer" in the German version, which is misleading, because "Ausdauer" rather refers to your ability e.g. to run for a long time like in a marathon, or to do a task (especially a hard and/or boring one) for a long time without taking a break. As far as my understanding of English goes, "dexterity" refers to your ability to do something with a high level of precision, e.g. like someone making clocks (I guess the best example for someone who really has to have a perfect control over each and every tiny movement of their fingers), or, like in the game, an archer, who needs a lot of precision to make their arrow hit the target.

So when I started to play the game I was always wondering what raising this stat would actually do... Until I used the English version of the client for the first time. :)

My suggestion, therefore, would be to use the German word "Geschicklichkeit" for "dexterity", this refers precisely to the ability an archer has to have in order to make the arrow do what they want it to do.

Regards,

Baeda

Got fixed. - Thanks for mentioning.

Mana Potion, 705
A dark sirupy brew, with a smell reminiscent of manaberries.
syrupy, not sirupy
Cave Snake Lamp, 612
The feeler of a lamp snake that glows in the dark.
Not really a typo, but lamp snake or cave snake?

I just pushed fixes for the things reported so far by Qwerty Dragon, taree and sunako.
Beside of this one:
Sunako wrote:syrupy, not sirupy
since 'sirupy' seems to be a correct spelling when using American English:
dict.leo.org wrote:syrupy, also: sirupy AE adj.
Thanks for the reports. :)

syrup, syrupy is *much* more common than sirup, sirupy.

Edit: In The Mana Client (Official) Version: 0.6.1 it gives wrong irc address for support in "mana/docs/FAQ.txt" file as Server: irc.freenode.net Channel: #themanaworld, instead of Server: irc.freenode.net Channel: #mana

It is correct to refer to #mana on Freenode, but the FAQ one is indeed wrong.

I am not online at the moment, so I can't attach a screenshot, but the item "Miners Hat", which everyone knows (anyone not farmed Red Slimes at some point here?) should be renamed to "Miner's Hat". Haven't seen it mentioned before but, hey, I am new. I am not sure if that also applies to Miner(')s Gloves, but should you check the one out, check the other too.

They both have lowercase I's when they should be uppercase. (Sorry about not getting coordinates for Mikhail.)
