They both actually look way different;
yours has more shading; mine has green aswell as a yellowbacking.

Very nice Nami. Tezer, sorry but yours isn't as good as Nami's. The one I gave to you was a rough draft, just to make you understand few things in pixel art.
Nami, here, I tried few things on your version. Please note that the name should stay "banana.png" up to the end. Also, make sure your icons are centered!

You'd get a much better base for shading if you flipped it side-to-side.

Almost. It's better not to overwrite your sprite but safe it as a different file. However do use suggestive names like "banana". Some examples are:
"banana1.png", "banana2.png", "banana3.png"
It will be easy to find the file back, and if you ever mess up the image, you can go back to an older version.
