I like this set of images.
The circlets will be quite small when pixeled over the sprite...that's ok just giving you a heads up.

The yeti fur lacks the texture of the original brown image, I realize it was a quick change though =]
also the shading of the cone needs some work.

*hint you might want to borrow the pallet from the barbarian yurt for color consistency, meway and I explored the texture and shading in minute detail. the palette is modeled directly from the yeti animation and tweaked slightly.

Nami... your art is great however I noticed few things. Before posting something on forum, it might be good to clean the icon/sprites first. Another thing I noticed is that you use only 1 frame for your spritesheet. Even the death frame is similar to the first frame. A spritesheet doesn't look like that either... it should be small, containing 5 frames of equal size. Look at current hat spritesheets and you will understand.

Keep the good work up!
Ali

You need to work on your shading.

Here is an example how you shade a conical shape:

Shading and texture are not mutually exclusive ;)

this was done by taking your last 2 images and putting them in layers in gimp.
the texture on the bottom layer at 100% transparency and the shading on top layer at 40% transparency.

*you could reverse these layers and try that also, but the image you want is there. =]
I changed no pixels.

Is using transparent pixels for shading uses something we could/should be doing? I've avoided using them at all, aside from making an animation for the mask I'm working on, so I'm unclear about this.

the resulting image is not transparent, gimp has a slider for transparency... 100% is full solid...opaque.
This slider is in the layer window.
Sorry I should have made that clear.

But the lizard helm uses transparency very well in the fins.
