Xmas quest and server rollback

To preface this, I understand and accept the roll back and considered not posting because I do not want to be OP for a needless complaining thread. Start your own thread to complain.

I want to know how our characters are affected regarding the xmas2011 quest. I completed the quest with my characters in the last few days but I am worried the quest progress is lost. Before I do it again, I wanted to know if I should bother. Will the server roll back be taken into consideration when gift giving time comes around?

I do propose that the characters that meet the requirements (3 weeks old, lvl 30) should probably just get the reward at this point. That would be an easier fix imo than everyone wondering what their quest progress was, if they can collect, etc.

In either possible event, I would like a bit of clarification regarding the quest and if I should go find a bunch of reinboos and buy reed bundles again.

Thanks TMW team, i got to level 93 before I had one single issue in the game.

The server rollback means that also your progress on the Christmas Event is reverted if you did it in the time that is lost due to the rollback.
We discussed about the possibility to expand the event time due to the rollback, but came to the conclusion that this wouldn't be of much help since most people aren't around at the holidays. Also, this would totally break the storyline of the quest as well as enabling the gift giving now would break it.
Santa's helpers are preparing for Christmas at the moment. And after Christmas, they're done with the stress and can thank you.

When designing the quest I paid attention to avoid items which are hard to get and mostly only low amounts of the items are needed. So it shouldn't be too hard to gather the items needed and if you already have them and know what to do, it shouldn't take much time to do the event again.
So I think one week is enough time to do the quest again with one or two characters.
Regarding wondering what the quest progress was, the NPC dialogue should make clear what it is, especially with the things I added based on the feedback I got in the topic about the event.

If you want to make sure you don't do something that might get lost again, I suggest you to wait until there's a clear statement from the admins (which should be within some hours from now). Though from what I've seen in IRC and in the news shown when logging into the game it's likely that the current data will be the one we have to go on with.
EDIT: It's definite now, it'll stay with this data.

Yesterday I restarted the Christmas quest, because all my progress was gone. I had the advantage on restarting of knowing where 3 of the reinboo were located. The problem is that I suspect that one of those 3 reinboo is not still in its place. Could someone please check to see that all reinboo are in their places still. It is possible that I did not remember one correctly, but I was fairly certain. I can't say which one or it would be a spoiler.

All the Lost Mouboo's are in their same place, So yep, the Lost Mouboo's are not lost.:P

I still think that no extension is needed.

If you know what you are doing (which applies to anyone who lost progress), it only takes 3 hours to redo the quest, even if you have to grind for all the items. In practice, players will already have most of the requirements, so 1 hour is a much more reasonable estimate.
