Can somebody give me step by step please

Please tell us your linux distribution, because the easiest way to install software is different on each one.

Sorry, I misread the topic title. I thought it read "how to install linux", not "how to install on linux". I think fearme wants to know how to install the TMW client on linux. That's why I deleted my post which was quoted by cody.

We got it up and running now

enter to the game folder with cd 'game folder' then
./configure && make && make install
but if you use the new manaplus client, just enter the game folder and run ./runme.sh wait till video test is done and just log in, hope will be useful.

Firstly what you installed is kernel. I think you might have installed GNU Linux. Dont forget GNU. Use GNU Linux for a year and then shift to windows vista. You'll discover happiness. There are also other ways to have fun in GNU Linux. Tweaks. My hobby is to try a different distro every week and experiment on that. Of course all my stuff is safe with slacky. If you are a programmer you can try haiku install. There are many ways to have fun in GNU Linux if you really want to have fun.
