Both are small groups, but is there anything important difference between them?

Thanks.

A party is usually formed ad-hoc for practical reasons, like doing a quest or a leveling run together.

Guilds, on the other hand, are long-term associations you don't hop in and out on a whim.

It's not unusual to join, leave, form and disband multiple parties each day, with friends or people you hardly know. But when you join a guild, this is usually a long-term commitment.

Partys are smaller and are usually made by close friends or people that want to share xp, guilds have a much larger capacity and are more associated as groups that have either different views, ways of playing the game, Role play options, or even a large group of friends that host events and such.

regards,

In other role playing games, guilds can also have a role in game play.: They mainly have, as here, an information an helping role. They also can act a bit as nations in real life: In Ragnarok for example (Athena server was a clone of Ragnarok), guilds can "own" castles that other guilds can try to conquer when "war of emporium" or GvG, a kind of team PvP, is enabled. Between the GvG periods Guilds own the castles and the resources that can be foung inside. A trial to make Terranite cave a Castle was made by "the Pleasant Company" in autumn 2010, soon after it's release (You can filnd tracks of this on this forum). The guild features have been disabled long ago by the administrators so the guild activity was limited to help and event organization until Jero, Pjotr Orial and The Kandiman from "Phoenix Council" brought "guild", the chat bot to players (thanks to them). Even this game is a small one, the related features are very nice: a guild chat, a guild storage with 1000 slots, guild member ranking, guilds ranking... Castles would need specific content (maps) to be available. You can have an Idea of what can be done about castles on brazilian server. There are also concept pages on the wiki.
All these features could have been available to players if the code was not recently removed from the server for reasons I still do not understand (and do not agree with). :x

Parties has capacity limit: 12 players. In party tab you can see your party member's HP (if you both are on the same map) and coordinates. Parties has item share and experience share.

Guilds do not have limit, do not have exp or item share. Also, generally, guilds are long-term formations and has huge amount of players in it
