A super-big THANKS to Frost for amazing community mgr work
Posted: 26 Jan 2013, 10:02
I could have written this to Frost in private, but I wanted the whole community to know how I felt, and I imagine that many probably agree.
As http://forums.themanaworld.org/viewtopi ... 12&t=16964 is yet another example, Frost, you have this unbelievable combination of technical skill, patience, fairness, and a super-rare desire for administrative transparency. In short, I love you; please be my Valentine in TMW (if my wife agrees, hehe).
If you could be cloned, or plugged into the singularity, and made the community manager of every MMOG on the planet, I think the world would be a better place, and world peace might even be the result.
I know I'm being a little over the top, and I appreciate everyone's hard work (Thank you Jen for listening, and o11c and 4144 for making all the wheels and cogs and other little bits turn and function), but when I see a community manager being so bloody cool (I adore technical skill mixed with admin transparency and a dash of patience and humility) I just go GA-GA with the praise and love.
Some P.S.'s
1) No, I'm not trolling. The internet is horrible for distinguishing sincerity from sarcasm, but I am being totally serious. The way Frost analyzes situations, makes careful reasoned fair decisions, adjusts if necessary, and explains it all afterwards, is a rare gem that most people only appreciate once it's gone. I appreciate it now! (As I'm sure do many other great players / staff here as well.)
2) I know Frost's title isn't "community manager", but he seems to fill that role. He has that perfect Dev / GM juxtapositioning for it.
3) I forgot what 3 was going to be.
4) I was supposed to write a thank-you note for my bank manager. She is amazing, and she's helping me financially to navigate through some really tough times and personal financial disaster that has befallen our family. I will write that note; she absolutely deserves it. But it's the weekend, so no emergency rush, and quite frankly, Frost deserves it more, so I wrote this first!
