title says it, e.g. another player then picked the egg up?

Are you sure it was yours to pick up? Was your inventory full? Were you carrying too much weight?

neither nor. It just lies on the ground, not even marked as i have set it in the settings. In case if it wasn't mine to pick it would say
"belongs to someone else"

can be closed problem solved: it was on the pick up list.
