A useful market website

This morning (yesterday morning, it's 1am :P) I was thinking, there should be a way to search all items players want to sell super easily, and also to sell all my items that I don't need in a way that anyone could easily find them any time they want. Well, I looked around but didn't find any sites out there that did that so I put one together.

Here's my store:
http://TheManaMarket.com/yales

The only minor bad thing is that it doesn't do the image coloring/dying that TMW does, so some of the images are the wrong color.

I have some future plans for it, too, if it catches on, like teams. For example, there would be a Slime Team team, and then a player could make a request to that team for 1k Iron Ore.

So yeah, check it out! Hope you like it. :)

That's a really nice site :D

A few things:
-> Some items seem to be missing, e.g. I tried the Yellow Wizard Hat
-> When you delete a character because of a typo (e.g. you typed Lifestonr, but meant Lifestone) it doesn't show the drop down list
-> Not sure, but it seems you can't scroll in that drop down list
-> Well... see below, after trying to enter a new item:

Code: Select all

500 Internal Server Error

The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.

Edit:
Oh, another thing, I don't know if this is possible, but e.g. I'd like to trade my Banshee Bow, but not for money, I'd only change it for a Heart of Isis.
It would also be awesome if you could enter a request, e.g. "looking for a Wooden Staff, offer 500K GP" or something like that.

It has much potential I think :alt-3:

For dye stuff, look at manaportal.

In the long run, it would be possible to have the ManaMarket-style bot generate its own webpage; this will be much simpler once I write an authorized-bot API, but that's a long time coming.

I sent you a PM about a security vulnerability I found.

How about some overview list, like all sellers or all items, on the frontpage?

How are you going make sure that there are no outdated offers?

I like the idea a lot and one can see that you put much effort into this site :alt-3:

A shop/user overview tab would be something to add to this. Right now, you can only search for some specific item but you can't just browse through the stuff others are offering.

Good work! I hope it really takes off :o

It seems to be down. Is it a temporary problem or did Yales give up already?

Ouch.
It's a work in progress, and probably not treated as a production web site yet.
In related news, I hear that ebay gave up business earlier this week.

What really happened is my roommate moved out and took the internet with him. :P I tried to set it up again tethered through my phone's internet but it doesn't seem like that's possible (no ports on phone networks supposedly.)

So for now sadly it's down, until I get setup with regular internet again.
