Is the game active?

Post by LordMerc »

Hey, I noticed the game on steam greenlight and seemed nice, so I upvoted it and followed the link to here. I even posted on your greenlight thread here yesterday but none answered. So being curious, is the game active right now or kind of empty? I may give it a try either way, but would be best to know. Thank you in advance

It's quite active, your post on the steam thread here got buried quickly on the Active Topics.

Glad you found us, Glad you like the game.

Nice, I didn't get to try the game much today, since I was watching football world cup too, but one thing I would like to ask is what is a good way to distribute my stat points as a warrior

If you're just starting the game I would focus more on dext since you will need accuracy to hit things, the next stat i would work on is strength and then later on after that luck. When you get to be a higher level it will help if you put some stats into agility too to help your speed :) IMO

The following isn't entirely optimal for all the newest quests, but is still a good general approach:

For early game, my rule is:
  • Find the toughest mob you can fight.
  • If you can't reliably hit anything, put lots of points in DEX.
  • If you take too much damage to fight all the mobs of that type as they respawn, you need a bit more VIT.
  • Otherwise, put as many points in STR as you can, but only up to a multiple of 5 (or preferably 10).
  • Keep a few points in reserve, because some mobs the DEX part is more important, and some mobs the VIT is more important, so once you level up, . But don't
Make sure to start all the "focus skills" quests as soon as possible (the first is at level 35) so you can start earning skill points, but do *not* focus on anything except what will actually be useful to you (Mallard's Eye is a good first choice, but swap out for Speed later once you can afford a lot of points in AGI).

Once you get to level 40 or so, wrap up all the essential low level quests, then go visit the restat NPC, put all your points in DEX (yes, all of them - all the way up to exactly 100, which requires an equipment bonus since natural limit is 99) and become a suicide archer and start solo'ing the graveyard (normally the team XP bonus is worth it, but when you're much weaker than everyone else, you wouldn't be getting a big enough share of the XP or drops - but if you find someone the same level do team up with them, it will double the XP rate). Note that, without any points in VIT, even if you manage to not die in one hit, healing potions won't do you any good, so find a mage and suck up to them for healing.

After a bit of power-leveling, you can go finish up most of the mid-level quests. Also make sure to max out your dailies once you can actually do them, and also learn at what time of your waking day the money-grinding areas are less competitive.

In the 60-70 range, balance between classes starts to shift, so you can restat for one of the warrior or mage builds at that time. I actually recommend starting an alt and levelling it here (you can swap equipment from your main via storage), and restat it as warrior for cheaper money grinding.

At level 80, the Terranite quest opens up, which will allow you to swap out your Forest Armor (+3 DEX) for a DEX +1 ring, but you can do the grinding part before you hit 80.

Once you hit level 90 or so, retire and sit in town all day and complain about how the game isn't as good as it used to, how all the rares are easy to get now, and how all the devs are fascists.

Thank you all for your advice, but got to tell you I mostly prefer melee classes, so wont really ever play a mage. I hadnt used any of my points till I read here. I placed most of my points for accuracy now, but later on there is a way to redistribute if needed? And I just started really, I think I only gained 3 lvls so far(poor scorpions were the victims)

Lol, you mean lvl 90 is the max and people tend to complain after reaching it? :p

Gaming wise I like mostly old school games and sandboxes(for example I am an active player on Ultima Online still) despite having a good pc, so when I saw the vid and features on steam greenlight thought like trying it. Seems like it can be fun

Level 99 is max, but you can do the "last" quest (quest with highest level requirement) at level 90 and get the best items in it (Banshee Bow, Bull Helmet, Lazurite Robe, Heart of Isis).

Indeed many people only level a bit after that point and become townsitters with that character, maybe levelling a new one meanwhile with Manaplus opened in a second window.
Me too, I levelled Biqcassy until lvl 93 and then trained Cassy while Biqcassy sat in town.
