Hi,
pretty interesting project:
http://www.robrowser.com/
It is a shame our eAthena is so ancient and forked so heavy that this most likely won't work
Nice proof-of-concept though how a TMW web client could look

If we wanted to play a RO online game why did you guys fork from Eathena in the first place?

Should also mention, 4144 did update manaplus to deal with some of the more recent eAthena code. So one could take a more recent code base and try a merge one way or another. I'd imagine thats what Evol has in mind. to be EO.

It's not a shame that TMW is not like RO. That why the plan was to ditch eA as soon as possible and switch to Manaserv. Didn't work out unfortunately
I meant it is a shame that we can't use the finished HTML5 client for playing TMW without heavy modification, since we use a modified and old eA.
Since there were discussions about a HTML5 client for TMW/mana in the past I posted it.

Never understood why we abandoned the original vision for TMW... Wasn't the idea to create a 2D action MMORPG that plays and looks similar to games within the Seiken Densetsu series.

Not sure what the original goal was but at some point it became all about Forks and Hats.

Yes, the original goal was Secret of Mana as MMORPG
There are even concepts for a ring menu in the forums

I got 104 keys on my keyboard and you want to use a UI adapted for a SNES controller? I remember navigating through that menu playing The Secret of Mana, it was a pain in the arse, specially if the boss required you to change up magics.

Yes. You also can connect controllers to your pc.

I like that more.

yes, plug a controller with less buttons then the standard mouse into a PC. Anyways, If so what kind of specs for the Mame Cabinet MMORPG are we talking here. I was thinking a cross between The Original XBox hand Cramper and the Atari Jaguar Carpitunalator. Maybe we can offer a third attachment that fits the rectum. I know when I think MMORPG, the first thing I think is I wish I could repetitively jam X until life is no longer worth living and I blow my brains out using a Nes Advantage, R.O.B. (Nes Robot) and a modified light gun.

I don't know what kind of "standard mouse" you use but I doubt you need all keys from a keyboard for a game like TMW. I attached my PC to my TV and playing with a gamepad is much more comfortable on my couch.

Yes, Mash X more. It's cruise control for cool. Reminds me the New Final Fantasy XIV movie is out.

I actually quite like radial menus. Games like [
Zero-k] make use of them in ways that might surprise you with their efficiency.

It's good for "Fire and Forget" but I think back to the magic system in the secret of mana and that was annoying. If done well sure, but track record around here so far isn't that good. Granted TMW and Eathena are still pretty much; X mash, cycle target, X Mash again, repeat until carpal tunnel. Introducing a interface like that can edge an advantage to the botter if the UI delays action, once again given the track record around here. If the players have more options for possible skills/attacks/abilities/etc. then they will want multiple keybindings for them, considering how Manaplus currently handles things. Also, Keyboard vs. No Keyboard is a shift from Desktop to Mobile.
For a mobile client, radial menu would definitely help as well. As there you are seeking to actively overcome the limitation of not having a keyboard. That does not appear to be the direction manaplus is going though.
Although one could have both working at the same time as I see Zero conflict between any type of menu system & key bindings.
