Leveling a ranger tips

Since everyone in the game keeps saying I'm trying to "beg" for items and such, I'm posting here.
I'm not looking for free stuff, I want to level up and acquire armour and such. I want to know, since I'm level 39, what would be something good to kill and where or how to obtain better equipment and what's available for my level as well as increasing levels?

If you allow 10 or 15 for Vit and then max your Dex you can actually hunt ladie-skeles and skeletons at your lvl as an archer, providing there are some warriors and other players to help. No way will you solo there atm. Also you may be able to find a warrior willing to tank wisps and polters for you. The wisps and polters will stay on the warrior, but some strategy is needed as this can still be a tricky activity. If you're wanting to solo level, then cave snakes are real good or maybe trolls.
Whisper me in game, I can help if not too afkish with my work.

Remember there are some language barriers in this international game so they may be misinterpreting you. Also they could just be giving you a hard time.

At level 40, it's quite feasible to solo in the graveyard (and, unless you can find someone else your level, will probably give you more XP than the sharing bonus would). Simple restat and put *all* of your points in DEX (not even one point in VIT).

You'll die a lot, but you'll gain levels very quickly.

Do make sure you get the Forest Bow first though.

As has already been said, as a ranger the most important stat to raise is the dexterity stat.

You will want to get hold of the following items, all obtainable fairly early on from quests:

Forest bow
Forest armour
Cat ears
Fur boots

Those items are really useful for the ranger and is arguably the best items for an archer to use until lvl 90.

here are the links to the corresponding quests:

https://wiki.themanaworld.org/index.php/Bandit_Quest
https://wiki.themanaworld.org/index.php/Cat_Ears_Quest

Another thing to think about is that the arrows are a lot cheaper to buy in Tulishmar, so stock up when you are there.

I'm not sure "dying a lot" really qualifies as successful solo hunting LOL, but O11c is correct, it is feasable in that respect. The issue I have with leaving your Vit at 1 is that I can't stand the long wait for a heal item to work. Vit of 10 seems a noticeable increase in heal time but that's just me. All good tips here.

Even with travel time it's a faster way to level.

basically, you don't heal, unless you get a mage. Expect to die in one hit, so don't get hit.
9 discretionary points in VIT is 18 points, which depending on your exact level is somewhere from 2 to 6 DEX points, which is usually enough to get the next bonus. Remember that the damage bonus from DEX is quadratic, not linear!

I find going to Lake Cave under Hurnscald tavern & using bow to go after cave snakes, is an effective way to level up an archer/ranger type. These cave snakes give an average of ~ 200 exp each one killed.

Once you've gotten your basic quest requirements out of what they drop, you can sell the items as a bonus way to make gold points. The standard disclaimers apply here, your mileage may vary, void where prohibited and all that fun stuff. *chuckles* :alt-3: :)

If you really desire a good way to make gold points, here is a brief list of loot items to sell off readily.
  • Miner Helmets
  • Miner Gloves
  • Boots
  • Cotton Shirts
  • Knife
  • Sharp Knife ( Useful for Wizards/Witches for a spell )
  • Daggers
  • Powdered Red Gems
You may find most of these as drops from Red Slimes. You'll need to get the Red Gems powdered North of Hurnscald at Woodland Mining Camp, see Malek upstairs. [ https://wiki.themanaworld.org/index.php ... em_Powders ]

Again, standard disclaimers apply. I have been playing on Land Of Fire server a good while and unsure all the experience, info I post here applies in overlay for TMW. For me at least, most seems to do so.

The best way to level up regardless of class is to do quests. Quests not only provide necessary items for your level like forest armour, cat ears etc but also give xp which will help you level up. Dont believe me ? Im an level 84 archer and i level up 1level a day with doing quests. At 80+ it takes quite a while to level up. I also have good equip (clover leaf, tera set, warrior set, topaz ring). I never bought anything. Don't focus on level up, items and gp. Interact with the npc's, do the quests, get the story. The game's lot more interesting when you dont read wiki but only interact with npc's, You'll definitely get good equip if you continue playing the game. Ask for help but don't beg.

Wow! sits reading this in pure awe, hugs deepthought in a friendly and proud manner, smiles warmly Brilliant there. I will not argue one bit with your method, presented. You're actually very spot on the mark. :) That was kind of how I got to like level 90 or so in LoF in about three months.

But LoF is far different from TMW. In LoF the drop rates are better, mobs are made low in energy. Folks are nice. :) Most playing LoF have a bit of a joke. We're the spek al people (special). LoF was made to let you level very quickly, meaning it was made to be easier than TMW in many aspects of game play.

Love your post here. You're the type of player/s that GMs love. :) 8) We know you'll offer help to others and ask nothing in return. You keep playing and having fun like this, eventually somehow you look down and realize you're a GM. :)

Thanks a lot. It's a nice thing when someone appreciates. [Hugs _Cordo_]. I'm like a hunter of peace. One who chases the elusive mayfly of love or something like that. Even though I tell people to do quests and stop hunting red slimes, no one listens. They all want money to buy stuff. I hate hunting for money, so boring.
