Regarding GM

I've been playing Mana World for a while and I've observed that I get this vote for GM's message everyday. How many GMs we have ? How many do we need ?

My opinion is we have enough GMs. I've observed couple of GMs who are active almost all the time. Ginaria is first in this list. She's the super gm. Next are prsm, silent dawn. There hasn't been a time of day where any of these three people aren't online. I know there are more than three and I don't say 3 is enough. I think there should be a limit.

Current GMs
or TMWC
Edit: or Game Masters :D

I don't know about a maximum limit, but minimum IMO is when we covered all time zones.

Note: In GM nomination threads it's about the person being trusted to be a good GM, not if TMW needs more.

The thought was that these current GMs are not continuously burdened with duties for the duration of their time online. Our GMs have other characters and enjoy the game as much as we do so a few more GMs would give them reprieve. Consider that they are online but may very well be afk yet remaining logged in to receive whispers and check chat logs. Having more than one GM online at a time increases time of activity in that regard. All good questions, thanks! :)

Then I guess we need few more GMs.I thought most GMs are people who completed the game and would like only to hangout at hurnscald center. They don't wanna play unless there's new quests or items. Maybe I'm wrong.

deepthought,

You are not exactly wrong or right. From experience being a GM on another server, GMs are normally players who do not mind helping others. That aside, some have completed the full game or at least most of it. Some have not.

It would be nice to see new game content, especially for those who have played a long time. At present this character I use in TMW is a new one. I have played here before as Darius, or other characters. I played on Land Of Fire, where I was voted to GM.

There really has been some bits of new content. Mostly though it is difficult seeing that having great value to players who have been waiting for years at times for something new. Often the new is minor, or otherwise disappointing. For example a player may be required to kill 1,000 of whatever monster to attain 1 drop, and then, get 100 of that drop to get a [Item] which only gives 1 attribute point.

Apologies if this sounds of frustration. Did not mean it to convey such, rather, was meaning to say some GMs are players who like helping others. Some GMs, yes are indeed bored, disillusioned with the game. So, you're not wrong or right. It all depends on the side of the coin you see.

I guess i'm on the other side of coin. I'm level 84 and starting to get bored. It's more fun to hangout at hurnscald center and chat, help others. I don't think i would even level up after 90.

Don't feel terrible over that. The new character I have, _Cordo_ in game, is about level 40. I too am bored. I too see the other side of the coin.

I could participate more in the Halloween quest but getting to a few of the more distant NPC is rough for the character, especially Pachua. It is also rough going to attain drops due to a really low drop rate. I need black scorpion stingers, small mushrooms. It seems I need to kill 100 of each monster to get just one drop.

Also there is little motivation, or inspiration in game. On Land of Fire I could get the Silver Forest Bow, silver Four Leaf Clover Charm. These are unavailable on TMW. I understand they are two different servers ran by different people and each may decide its own rewards, drop rates and so on. That still does not quell a feeling of frustration in not having any perceived "real" goals to go after.

The drop rate on Land of Fire is really high. That means kill around twenty black scorpions you'll likely have 10-15 black stingers. On TMW it seems to be 100 to 1. That makes one lose will, desire to play.

You'll be told though, "ask for help from other players". There is a valid counter point to that, two in fact. 1. You may not really know, care to know, others. 2. What is the point of continually relying on others. Yes, It is nice to have help to a degree but one likes to think they can as well. That seems a Catch 22 in a way, I know. *shrug* It is what it is.

Of course, there's no true winning or losing to this game. It is like life, you just keep grinding for no purpose.

Well said. Liked the catch 22 reference.
