Now that contributor shirts are fixed and dye-able I think we could start voting on players who deserve it.

What is a Contributor Shirt?
Contributor shirts are special in-game shirts given to people who help TMW, may it be by moderating, coding, testing, mapping, music composition, wiki contributions or anything that benefits TMW.

If you think a player helped TMW lots and should get a contributor shirt please say his/her in-game name and explain the reasons why you think they deserve it.


In my case, I would like to suggest these players:

• Prsm for being a GM
• Veryape for being a GM
• Ginaria for being a GM who is always there and seems to never sleep
• Silent Dawn for being a GM
• Narus for being a GM
• Chicka-Maria for making almost all background music in TMW
• 4144 for making what is now the official client
• Cassy for being an active dev
• Wushin for being an active dev and admin
• o11c for working 24/7 on making the tmwAthena server better
• Serene for being a very active tester who is always there when we need his help
• Toxicodendron for being a very active tester who is always there when we need his help
• Crazyk8e for being an active tester who is almost always there when we need her help
• Rawn for all his debugging work and for contributing to tmwa
• Slicer for hosting the server

I think this is a great idea.

I would like to suggest Crush. While he does (AFAIK) not play the game anymore (does he even still has a character?), he is a long time contributor with major contributions in the past. Some of his major contributions were woodland, hurnscald (crush land), the particle system in the client, and other things. Even now he still is active as an admin of the forum.

So even though he does not play anymore, he certainly does deserve one.

I think someone older than meko needs to give his opinion about who deserves it. meko wasn't here when we tested last xmas, than i would say hencesign too, or tested illia than i would say Johanne wasn't here when Nard wrote half the wiki.... and it feels a bit nepotistic, other than tmwc he suggests his friends....

Thought a bit about it and changed my mind:

Shouldn't we just let people who want and think they deserved one because of their contribution request to get one?
I think it's too much work to search all contributors and give out the shirts.
The list goes on:
Contributors (wiki) (already listed by meko)
Developer Archive (wiki) (includes contributors that are not listed in the link above)
And additionally some listed here and here.
Oh, also some/many of the Testers group (I think not all listed there really tested new content though)

I bet Trello has some contributors mentioned somewhere that aren't listed in one of the links above too.

tl;dr too much research, too much work handing out the shirts to all contributors. Let's let them request the shirt, they are welcome to do so

Honestly, this whole thing is reminding me of the arguments *against* handing out contributor shirts or dev caps at all.

Its better not to give any. I guess we're not working for something in return. Although its a nice gesture to give reward to someone who contributed. There are many people who have contributed to the game in one way or other. Its difficult to get list and I bet there will be drama regarding who did what.

Motivating people and giving credit to those spending their free time on contributing is a very important thing.
We need more devs, we need more contributors.
I see this as some kind of advertisment which we lack of greatly.

I do not have the power myself to give any item to anyone so all I can do is make suggestions, like any other player can do. What I say is in no way official and the admins have the last word.

I wasn't here for long so I do not know everyone who helped (far from it) so I can only suggest people who I know are helping in the present because I am not aware of who did what in the past. If you would like to suggest someone then please do so.

Well technically playing the game helps contribute. Everyone gets a t-shirt?

so... do we make them buyable?

why not leave it to a vote, just like a gm vote.

if you get X number of votes you get it, and just like a gm vote, there needs to be conditions set on who gets it.

and who writes those conditions?

TMWC would write them, but they would have to be accepted by the community. So it's really a question of "How does the community feel we should disseminate the contributor shirts?"
