I got a bow from NPC Sandra. Then I made a new character and gave the bow to it via storage. But the new character at level 1 is Not able to equip the bow. ManaPlus 1.4.12.20 on Linux Mint 17.1.

The bow requires level 20 to use.

Isn't it unfair? You get the bow way before getting 20 even if you're doing all the quests in Tulimshar. Soon you'll get Short Bow on mine quest and getting forest bow between 25 and 30. This Bow you get from Sandra is already a short life weapon after all.

Totally is, but the Bows don't scale well. You used to be able to equip the Forrest Bow at level 1 but not the Bow.
But in this class there is now;
Sling Shot, Bow, Short Bow, Forrest Bow & Banshee Bow.

Yes, it would be nice for the bows to scale better.

Absolutely unfair.
It is fair to limit level for Forrest Bow & Banshee Bow.
But Bow and Short Bow must not require minimal level or may require very low lvl (about 5).
Sling Shot is not a weapon.

I hope I'm not completely delusional, but my forest bow works just fine at lvl1.
It's just the bow and the short bow that I can't equip until I reach lvl4.
I tried it in both the regular and the testing server.

Please update the item description
to show the lvl requirement.

Yar, when they originally added the forest bow they never put a level requirement on so you can't equip the Bow or Short bow but the Forest bow works fine.

It should be level 30 though to equip if you got the quest it's in I think or 20. Either which way it's still means the Bow and Short Bow are rarely used for more then a few levels.
