Cant we get a discount if we have reached a certain level?
Or maybe add more items to that lady's shop? She hasn't sold any in a long time

Those are "cash rares"; wearable items from the NPC. If you buy one, another will appear in the vendor window. They have to be insanely expensive, or else everyone could afford one, and then they wouldn't be rare.
I guess there are other methods they could use; they could drop the price but make the item only appear super-rarely in the vendor window. But that would be harder to code, probably less fair to those steadily working towards their goal, and would give less of a boost to the overall economy, so the current method seems better in every way, if we're going to have rares from NPCs.

Actually if it was up to me we had more of these, making some of our currently unobtainable items (Eye Path, Scarab Armlet, Funky Hat, Sunglasses, ...) such "cash rares".

Personally, I agree with you. But it would probably anger some players, like Chicka Maria, that spent a lot of time and effort merchanting these rares off of other players.
I represent the other side of the coin. I had most of these rares from just playing in 2007 and 2008, and attending Platyna and Crush events during the holiday times of those years, but that character got erased from inactivity in 2009 or 2010 (which while I totally understand, I could never have foreseen, because those were the first mass erasures of inactive characters to my knowledge). In theory, it might be nice to have those items back, without engaging in merchanting tactics (a form of commerce PvP, in my opinion) with other players.

Why would she get angry when she NEVER plays?
Does the opinion of just one player affect everyone else?

I still don’t know why the argument of “old players worked hard to get them, so they would be upset” gets so much weight when there is a topic about releasing rares/unobtainable items in the game… afaik, those old players are (mostly)all afk sitters (including myself) that achieved all the goals the game has to offer and have their collection of rares complete. Why younger players (the ones that actually play the game) can't have the possibility to have those items as well…? I’m not saying to give them for “free” of course, but at least give them the chance as we had our chance too, sometimes with quite easy quests because there was nothing else done for annual quests. I would definitely agree to add such items to the exotic trader.

That's why I totally disagree with suggestions like making the Mouboo Head a rare drop of Mouboos and such

I don't see many players running around with a High Priest Crown - it's just damn hard to get that much money and you most likely won't get that much a second time to buy another item of this kind (I know some players do, but some also have to thank bugs for that).

That indian seller was meant to be online just for a single month, to bring some useless and rare items to buy for old players and to reduce the number of GP in game.
It was never meant to be something accessible to any common player but rather for players that gathered a lot of GP through selling bat items or abusing coins.

I'm fine either way, but I prefer for the items be available for the new players also, exactly as you explained. I was just trying to be respectful of all the opinions, because Chicka-Maria has advocated very strongly in the past for her point of view, so I was trying to say my opinion while still acknowledging that others may feel differently (and strongly).

That's because they value their false sense of accomplishment from grinding for pretty pixels over other aspects of the game, which gets in the way of actually making TMW a better experience for everyone.
The so called argument can be summed up as "This makes me feel bad, stop.

Just kill red slimes all day 24/7 and you might able to buy it in 20-30 days!

all rare items should be obtainable, ether through a quest, item drop or gm event. most of the rare items in the game just sit in someones storage and never get sold, theres no longer a quest for them , the price is so high it would take months to gather the gp or wait 5-10 years an old player might quit and drop them

Since the game hasn't received much new content lately why don't we make some old (rare) items or unreleased items available for a certain time thorough Ishis Monster Points. This is something that can be added to the game really fast, of course the items should cost crazy amounts of MobPoints, this way each player would get only a few.
If we add lots of different rewards, probably not everyone is going to choose/get the same items and it wont affect the economy negatively.
This will also change the number of online players, I'm sure it will increase it as everyone will be farming/killing/grinding mobs for those extra points that they might need to get their so loved item.
I would like to work on this if its accepted.
