in-game moderation change

Post by wushin »

The TMWC would like to make players aware of moderation guideline changes coming to cut down on trolly/spammy/malicious chat in-game.

This will work like the "English in General" rule; Take it somewhere else (whether private or someplace else).
  • Keyloggers, hoaxes/phishing websites
  • Hateful language about race, religion, country (Example: US vs. EU), political beliefs, gender, etc.
  • Nudity/Sexually explicit content
  • Content that is considered illegal by law
  • Referral links for contests, promotions, or anything else

Nope, remember the seven dirty words ? You cant say any of them. Maybe, we need another place besides the public places to chat what we want. I would say the fire place on north of hurnscald. It's best place and near to mine and town.

Aren't you familiar with the famous seven dirty words ? These words even get beeped in tv shows. George Carlin did a standup on these words too.

So ppl won't confuse peace with piss. for example when i say meko peace be upon him, if its censored you know its actually piss be upon him.

Anyone around to translate the game rules can do so. Either change the wiki page or put the translation on this thread.

im totally against part in this point of the rules:
Hateful language about race, religion, country (Example: US vs. EU), political beliefs, gender, etc.

the political beliefs part.
let democracy be as strong as opensource pls!
and for this it need free speech!
why not should tmw be a ground for that too?
dont ban ppl with serious intents pls!!
let them speak!
im eager to listen also!

thx

Its no hateful arguments. Well-formed arguments or healthy debates are fine. i.e. Duck the Nazis. (bad) vs. I dislike the Nazis because they killed a bunch of people. (good)

Also it's only applies as much as the english in general is enforced. (which we all know as code words for "Take it somewhere private")

Since the rules are up to GM discretion, it will vary from GM to GM and GMs already reserve the right to moderate per these rules.

Therefore, these rule additions are for clarification and not changing anything.

meko wrote:Since Prsm forces me to make a post, here it is.

Summary:
  1. Gumi creates the char Cummingtonite
  2. Gumi logs into the char Cummingtonite and sits in town, remaining silent
  3. (fast-forward 20 minutes)
  4. Gillian_ writes "there is a innapropriate name in public!"
  5. Prsm kicks Cummingtonite
  6. The following conversation ensues, in whisper:
[01:00] Gumi: I would advise you to read about the metamorphic amphibole (a mineral) called cummingtonite
[01:01] Prsm: was that you
[01:01] Gumi: I guess you have something against my passion for minerals
[01:01] Gumi: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cummingtonite
[01:01] Prsm: i will bet that you just abused that mineral
[01:02] Gumi: abused?
[01:02] Gumi: how does one abuse a mineral?
[01:02] Gumi: you bore a hole in it and do unholy things?
[01:02] Prsm: you knew the name had a sexual meaning also
[01:02] Gumi: it does not
[01:02] Prsm: i am too old to play this game with the master of dirty names
[01:03] Gumi: I guess my only legal remedy is the gm court house
[01:03] Prsm: i would agree
[01:03] Prsm: and ftr it was a kick not a ban
[01:04] Gumi: even then, it's undeserved
[01:04] Prsm: you know
[01:04] Prsm: call me out on it
[01:04] Gumi: I won't
[01:04] Gumi: I thought you banned me, and you did not
[01:04] Prsm: no, you have to
[01:04] Gumi: but I'm not gonna delete that char, since I've not done anything wrong
[01:05] Prsm: we have two trains of thoughts here
[01:05] Prsm: we all know how you love minerals and rock stuff
[01:05] Prsm: so you will have a valid case when i ban that alt
[01:06] Prsm: and since you have presented how much rocking and minerals mean to you, you will probable win
[01:06] Gumi: you kicked my char on mere speculations or a mere theory that I might use it for something inappropriate
[01:06] Prsm: but we need the mwc to vote on this
[01:06] Prsm: either you post or i do
I am disgusted by your ridiculing of having fun with rocks. Discrimination is not something we should tolerate in TMW.
