Help low level player to begin with magic, by lowering the defense stats of the Apprentice Robe, it could be possible to add it to a low level quest (like Morgan NPC (Menche suggested)).
The requirement to get it could be to have at least 20 in intelligence( gumi suggested). In the meantime like gumi said: "to be fair, we'd need to give a +5 armor to other players too, not just mages"

Apprentice Robe = Silk Robe?

It does not have the same colors, and the idea of the pool is to reduce the defense bonus

Perhaps add +MA to both Silk Robe and Apprentice Robe, so the order of progession would be:
Apprentice Robe --> Silk Robe --> Sorcerer Robe --> Laz Robe

I was thinking about add magic attack boost when the player is lower than a certain level(I guess it's possible to do this with item).
I think that the Apprentice Robe are meant to help the apprentice to learn magic,that why it should help by increase the magic attack, and then when the player reach a certain level, the boost will vanish.
