A question about your plans

Hello all Evol-world people :)

I think this is very interesting new world, but we can't see all this world yet. And thanks to all developers who work to make this world.

But I have a question: when we finally leave this island? ;)
It's too small island to play. I want to go to other parts of your world. Can you write some information about a date when we can go out from this island? May be not a date, but how much time I need to wait (about a week, a month or more)? Please write something about your plans. Thank you.

An opensource project like this one is made completly voluntarily by people in their own free time. People get busy with their own lifes, people leave projects, people join the projects, people dissappear, people appear. Making an estimation when we can leave the island is difficult, if not impossible.

So the only answer I can give you is:
When it's done.

I understand this. And thanks to developers who find time to work on this project. I do not ask for impossible things :) But may be you have some information about a stage of working on new world parts? Or this work freeze for now? Thanks for any information.

Development is definitely not frozen, as you can see from the development sections of the forum. Remember that the game is still in its Beta session, which means that the main goal for now is not to provide players with a large environment to play in, but a small demo that allows to test content and at the same time gives future players a preview of what the game is going to look like when it's released.
The first content release of Evol is being worked on as we speak, bit by bit, fueled by volounteer developers and the amount of time those developers can dedicate to the game. Anyone can contribute, the time it'll take to finish the first release will depend on how many new contributors we may get in the future, and even if we don't get any more, our long-time developers are more than capable of keeping the project going!

All I can really say is, stay tuned. When the first release comes you'll have much more than just the island to explore and it will be definitely worth the wait! :)

Hi and thank you, it's nice to know that our project keep some people interested in it.
But I have a question: when we finally leave this island? ;)

WildX and EJlol answered for a big part your question, it's pretty hard to set a date, but it won't be this week or this month for sure.
In order to get the next release done we need to go through different development step, I should point that this release is one of the hardest for us to make, as we need to apply all of the work done through the 3years of alpha/beta sessions and also that it will feature most basic concepts that we thought off.

So, I can't let you with this vague answer, I can just tell you a date that is actually set for the development: 31 December 2013, that's the date where we will stop to work on graphics and that we will start to map and to add scripts and so on in game.
I can't tell how long the next step will last, but the release won't be for 2013, for sure.
