Happy new year!

Even though it's still december 31th here, I already want to wish everyone a happy new year.

Also have fun with the fireworks, but be carefull! especially the u.s. citizens living in the netherlands alt5. you are not allowed to defend yourself against the firework with guns here

Yes we are. They shoot homemade cannons every year in front of my house. It's actually a dutch farmers thing to do. But some weird people decided that a park in the middle of a city is also a good place to shoot these cannons for a few hours straight.

The cannons are made from milk churns. The explosive is made with calcium carbide and water. If you combine this you will get an explosive gas. You only need a few grams of calcium carbide to make it explode. (you are allowed to have 4kg at home here alt25)
