so, it seems that there had been a lot of players selling and throwing their items just because of lack of slots (in the forum)
so may be for next release there could be an option to gain (fulfilling certain number of quests, reaching certain player level) and buy slots (with game's currency)
may be that is better that throwing or have multiple accounts to save items

It actually would be possible to expand max inventory size, and it was even tested...
...if M+ was patched.

(As far as I'm concerned, anything which requires changes to the client should be marked as flat out impossible, so yep )
