Saint Paddys Day

its that time again, St Pats day is almost here (March 17)
and we all know that we always asks for Limericks.

So please submit a Limerick to this post, and the best ones will
win a prize ........

The Limerick needs to be about "Unique on The Mana World"

all other posts will be deleted, one post per person.

I am looking forward to reading them.

Prizes will be given on the 17th. There may be another twist this year as well, so please aim at submitting your limericks before March 9th! (Limericks will be accepted until the 16th, but they'll not be able to participate on the twist if submitted too late).

EDIT: The votes are now up! You can vote until the 16th, prizes will be given on the 17th. Prizes and amount of winners will not be announced until the day :alt-5: No new entries will be added to the poll, but you can still submit a limerick for the participation prize.

If you don't know how to write a limerick, you can read general informations about the format in http://crc.themanaworld.org/forum_threads/2955675

You can also get help from the community!

Limericks about Moubootaur Legends, Evol Online, The Mana World rEvolt, Source of Mana, Mana Spheres, Land of Fire, GermanTMW, TMW-UFB, etc. are also acceptable.

About the "uniqueness" rule:
TL;DR it must be directly about The Mana World.

Spoiler:

To discourage the use of Artificial Intelligence software such as ChatGPT to make cheap mass produced limericks, we introduced a twist! Your limerick must say about something unique to The Mana World, or implemented in an unique way on The Mana World.

For example, it can say: "in The Mana World, you don't give flowers or chocolate, Your girlfriend wants cake; Unless she is a kytty of course!"

Which refers to Tinris quest (unique on The Mana World) and Valentine's Day event (unique on The Mana World).

But it cannot be something entirely generic like "in the mana world, mages warriors and archers, battle a great evil, we will yet save the world!". (Which great evil? It's entirely generic)

You can talk about Blue Sage and Cindy, but you can't just say about "Yeti" as that's too generic.
So "A yeti kidnaps a little girl" = good! "yetis kidnapping people" = not so good! "yetis roaming around" = bad!

In other words, we want limericks about our The Mana World, and all unique aspects it have! Show us your creativity and knowledge on TMW! Don't just stamp "The Mana World" in your limerick or write generic stuff about MMORPGs in general

Note: Thus far, the following limericks does not really qualify, but have been included in the vote anyway:

1. Anomaly's (tangential)
2. Tyr Odison's (tangential)
3. Dustman's (because it is a poem, not a limerick >.<)
4. MadCamel (...no comments on this one.)

If the contestants want to submit a new limerick, that's fine by me :)

South of Dimond's Cove you'll meet Gwendolyn,
She'll train your skills against the wind.
After a good meal of snake eggs,
Move the correct number of steps.
High dex and agi required for your shot to be aligned !

In Nivalis it's awfully cold,
so players must always be bold,
to come out through the snow
in the light's lovely glow,
from the sun in the great town of Hurnscald!

In Tulimshar there are many sights,
like the docks that are up on the right,
and if you kill some sea slimes
you might make a few dimes,
to afford armor made of terranite!

Not once have I ever been bored,
from Tulimshar up to Candor,
there's always something to do
fight a snake, drink a brew,
just remember to bring your sword!

After having a glorious fight,
i like to settle down for the night,
i'll have a drink with Kfahr
then dream of places afar,
but first i'll have a Tonori delight!

Many places there are in this land,
from the grass to the snow to the sand,
but while it might seem quite merry
to take a trip on the ferry,
leave the food, the selection's quite bland!

Thank you everyone! You've been a wonderful audience!

There's a game called ManaWorld, you see,
Where players roam wild and free,
With magic and might,
They journey all night,
A unique experience, it's guaranteed!

Seppejam is a player whose luck is bad
He got his hands on a rare pilot hat
But got no plane
who is to blame ?
Now - to stay at the ground makes him sad

Probably nsfw:

Spoiler:

There once was a girl from Nivalis
Who suffered from minor paralysis
She couldn't scratch
The itch in her sn*tch
So she always prefered some analysis

Back in the day,
there was only one way:
stack in the cave
with all of the brave
and level away!

Then magic doubled
young mages were troubled
Sagatha stared
items were spared
and new quests were muddled

High levels were rare
Auldsbel finished with flair
Airlia had rumors
and TradeBot consumers
There was change in the air

covered in shadows
the caretaker's wife rose
few mages succeeded
some say they cheated
and then their accounts froze

[Creative writing is not my strong point and I shouldn't have stayed up this late.
Players may need to have been here for a long time to piece this together (before 2010).
Constructive criticism is welcome.]

Hocus wrote a Limerick,
that had quite some oomph and kick,
but Rill did not like it much,
because it was lame and such,
Hocus cried till he was sick.

Hi, this post will self-destruct before event is over so heads up!

  • You can submit multiple limericks, or even limericks with multiple paragraphs, but only one is eligible for the competition and reward.

  • Again, the limerick must be specific to The Mana World (any game). Anomaly's is out ─ it is exactly what you would get if you were to ask ChatGTP to write "an unique limerick about The Mana World".

  • You CAN however use ChatGTP to help. Just like you can ask people to help you writing a limerick, but can't take a limerick someone else wrote and pretend to be yours. You must come up with what you want to write, and can use tools like Thesarus and ChatGTP to get the rhymes and the limerick format.

  • We're still debating if MadCamel's limerick qualify or not, as there's no such NPC in Nivalis. If it breaks or doesn't breaks forum rules is a separate discussion in parallel by the Forum staff, I am part of event staff, so I'm not tracking it.

  • The rules aren't meant to be super strict. The event must be fun, after all. I enjoy reading your limericks!

  • You still have roughly a week to submit a limerick in time to participate in everything, and roughly two weeks as final deadline if you want at least the participation prize. There's time!

I will as usual post my limerick shortly before the deadline, unless I feel inspired earlier. DON'T look forward it, it probably won't look good

"Whoa! You're bursting with power!",
With bat wings, Arkim is showered,
You've proven you can,
Win against Krukan,
Time to go fight some pink flowers.

There once was a hero without dragon shield
How should he get this good defense to wield
should he give up ?
or buy in the shop ?
Instead he forced minions of Blanc to yield

This is not my official limerick entry but rather a response to Hocus:

Dear Hocus, there’s no need for tears.
From me, you will never get jeers.
Your rhyming is fine,
With thoughtful design,
So relax and go grab some beers.

This is NOT my contribute for the limericks - its just good fun :)

Rill puts every year a great effort at
Make all write limericks to win a hat
Are you a sage ?
or a writing mage ?
If you dont try, youre doomed to do bad
