Never mind the existential crisis that seeing "16 years" has given me. Happy anniversary!

I remember when I was told by two french girls that they were starting a new guild and that it would be pirate themed. I thought it was cool. We discussed event ideas while fighting in the Graveyard. In a few weeks we had the best guild in The Mana World.

Hi all
Vick Timson has been away for a few days now and I am sure he has been murdered.
Therefore, I would like to ask you to help me clarify what may have happened - I need to know :

• where is the crime scene (hide and seek - find Vick)
• what was the instrument of crime (your detective work)
• who is the murderer (it will be a NPC)

I will be testing the accusations and you will be the detectives who provide them.
Every detective will have to be very careful - you can have only one accusations (per account)
Whisper me (Raffe) in game to deliver your accusation.
The first player with the correct accusation wins the murder mystery and a prize.
There will be given hints along the search.

Tip :
To get coordinates of a specific position you need to press F10 (debug window) - this should provide you with : Map & Cursor position.

congratz to Ledmitz who solved the mystery :
He discovered Vicks body in tulimshar desert : 0021 73,117 and concluded that Baktar the collector of ancient Tulimshar items decided to murder Vick with poison, because he wanted the strange coin - but Vick had it for sale on MM - so he never got it.
The prize was a skull mask, 200 keys and 13 blood stones.

Here is a recap of the day's activities.

The day started calmly enough, with the traditional Flower Power happening in which each participant received an Eggshell Hat in the color of their choice. This is a list of those who received the hats and the colors they selected:

Next, Raffe hosted one of his special Murder Mysteries, which Ledmitz solved. However, before the day’s activities could proceed further, Celestia unexpectedly sent a special request for help, and so everyone gathered at her home to discover what was going on. There, Celestia related her story. It seems that the crazy pirate, Pink Boots Hank, had broken into her home and stolen her most cherished and valuable Teapot.

If you don’t remember Hank, he used to be the first mate of George the Pirate. But then something happened to him, and he went kind of crazy. During Easter 2012, he had actually kidnapped the Easter Bunny (who managed to escape unharmed). Hank had not been seen nor heard from in many years, but now he had returned.

Celestia asked for help in retrieving her beloved Teapot, and a brave group of Manaworldians volunteered to pursue Hank to get it back.

After entering a secret portal in Celestia’s home through which Hank had escaped, the group followed him. Along the wild and dangerous route, they battled relentless mobs of all kinds. These included the vicious Yeti, who harbored a special hatred for Celestia due to her “Protect the Children” quest. There were also pirates from large and majestic sailing ships that Hank had recruited for his dark deeds.

The chase continued for many hours, until finally it reached the castle where Celestia had once hosted her famous tea parties. There, in the uppermost chamber, the brave Manaworldians finally cornered Hank. And it was there that Hank inadvertently dropped the Teapot! He then yelled out one final manic cry and disappeared in a puff of smoke.

The group returned to Celestia’s house, where the treasured Teapot was given back to her. In thanks, Celestia presented gifts of different colored shades to those who aided in the recovery effort.

To all who joined in the celebration of CRC’s 16th year anniversary, we sincerely hope you enjoyed it!

Its been exciting event. TBH it pushed me to limits and beyond - but in the end things worked. I even managed to fit setup of test server to give eventers at least some time to pre-play action and familiarize with custom things - and converged things for deployment on main server "just in time", the only "quirk" main server restart took place between CRC event phases. TBH its miracle event timeline has been met.

As some spoiler: many years ago, after TMW gave me taste of MMORPGs, I've seen advanced events in "professional" MMOs and how they do it. I got idea it "cool" and became one of forces lobbying idea of Event Coordinators in TMW behind the scenes. By then Rill looked like most promising candidate for this role to many, me also included. Now, hell a lot of time later, I'm honored to say these ideas were correct. That's what I call true Event Coordinator in action!

What you've seen? For the first time in who knows how many years, about 5 persons joined efforts to make it happen. Its been coordinated, multi-eventer event with some planning, plot, sequencing and so on. As special perk, server been more assistive to eventers needs, making event with some elements of quests. Dynamic teleporters changing destination? Locked rooms? Customized mobs giving booty worth of Corsairs? Annoying ship rattos stealing it? Or even fabled Teapot? Check it yourself, it has been returned to Celestia! Happy Celestia shared some of her shades collection with heroes who helped! Most interesting part about MMORPGs? You can show story - not just tell it.

So thanks Rill. I guess without your coordination it wouldn't have gone this far. I hope to see more events like this - someone should give others example how to do it right, so others can learn - by example. Any less than that doesn't not seems to work reasonably. And of course thanks to everyone involved who made it possible - and also players who came to see it. We should do more events like this in future, looking forward for more of that kind of fun.

Here is a small anecdote:
When we chased Pink Boots Hank to Celestia's castle, he used many teleporters to trick us. At one point I stepped into a teleporter and saw Hank in front of me. I stood in the narrow corridor wearing the massive Overlord's Helmet and blocking him access to the teleporter. Before he could step back, Puffino blocked the other side of the corridor. The CRC event was a blast to say the least!

The Flower Power event is one that CRC has hosted many times over the years, and is generally liked by everyone. Whoever wins is all dependent on chance. There is no skill involved, other than the ability to sit still for a while, and not getting mad about another Old Woman win… she steals all the prizes! %%h

Raffe’s Murder Mystery was well-crafted, as per usual. This one was a bit shorter than usual, due to us being on a soft time limit. Ledmitz was the one to solve this Murder Mystery. A great mind crafted the mystery, and another great mind solved it!

And then, the icing on the already delicious, pink cake… Pink Boots Hank stealing Celestia’s teapot. Due to the effort of the Manaworldians, Celestia got her teapot back… but not without struggles. Hank recruited a lot of monsters and pirates to make it a hard task, but we all pulled through.

I gotta say… I felt honored to be one of the eventers for this year. I am a new eventer, so this event was definitely a huge task. I’ve been playing the game for about 17 years, and to be able to contribute to The Mana World in such a way, made my heart sing.

Huge thanks to Hello=) and HoraK for all the coding that went into the event… HoraK played as Hank. He played his part perfectly, and made me laugh audibly at times. His pirate poetry was a sight to beyond %%a

Huge thanks to Raffe for hosting his Murder Mystery. It’s always great to see such a well-crafted mystery.

Huge thanks to Rill for her brilliant coordination! This event wouldn’t have existed if it weren’t for her. She coordinated with us on the fly, as the event was ongoing. A job well done!

And of course, huge thanks to all the players that attended the event, and helped Celestia get her teapot back! Without you, this event wouldn’t have been possible either.

All in all it was a great experience. I’m glad we all got to be part of the experience. See you in TMW! :)

I wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone for CRC's 16th anniversary! This was my first time attending such an event and I was totally blown away: from the simple beauty of the pink flower field to the high-energy chase, it was all incredibly engaging.

Unfortunately, right as the event started, I had to head out with Ciliegia, so I missed a good chunk of the middle part. However, I managed to get back just in time for the battle against Hank!

It was lovely to read Wellvin’s anecdote about the corridor in Celestia’s castle. It was such a funny moment seeing Hank trapped between Wellvin and me, right before he used his tricks to vanish into thin air.

That corridor encounter was so legendary that I even read a limerick about it in Hurnscald’s most important newspaper! For those who missed the Special Edition of the Hurnscald Gazette, here it is:

There once was a pirate named Hank,
Whose tricks were quite clever and frank.
Trapped in a hall,
Puffino and Wellvin stood tall,
Till he vanished with a smoke-filled clank!

This was my first event and I highly enjoyed it. I certainly intend to attend other TMW events (related or not to CRC). Everything was amazing : the Pink Flower Field part, the Mystery Story, Celestia's Teapot. I loved every moment of it. Most of all, I like the fact that it was a collective quest (not sure I'm saying this right, I'm not a native speaker). I like the social aspect of this game. Too bad I couldn't stay until the end (I was tired, I had a hard day, I work on Saturdays).

I want to thank everyone involved in this, I know it must have been a lot of preparation, but I want you to know that it was worth it. You're doing a terrific job. Keep up the good work.
