1. the shadow from the head of the column
2. the base of the column
3. the top shape at the head level looks more deep now
(thank you Len)
On Top Len's original suggestion
Bottom modified new version
That looks even nicer (remind me later that I need to adjust the out line on the snake)
The only problem now is the rest of the game is going to look so bad in comparison to the temple
The temple has truly come a long ways from where it started

Now with a shadow

I consider is not completely off but still something is missing, may be I need to shape the roof or some ornaments

I actually don't think it make any sense to have a steeped roof with a hood since this is desert where rains rarely fell. What will it be used for? To shade priests from sands? Beside, where will they get those clay tile from?
As suggested by Len, a flat roof should be more reasonable, but it would be nice to have trianglar or arch like brick/stony roof top.

I was wondering if you might want to revive the snake in the wall concept for the entrance?

You could do something simple like this for the root top as well.

Absolutely but you are the best working with the snake, every time I tried to modify the snake I screwed up
, but if you can help me finish it it would be great.
Now the greatest challenge with the snake is the light source, right now is from top and we need to change it to south west, also we need to give it some stone-like texture, do you think is possible ?

wow! you took the wall to the next level, I think we just need to match a bit the colors and shadows and the entrance wall is perfect and ready for the game

Thanks. I am glad you like it.
I have merged the colour map, but is it suppose to be tileable?

It shouldn’t be that hard to make it tileable (very nice work BTW)
This is going to look unbelievable when its finished!

Well I try to find a way to solve that issue, may be a flat surface behind with some shadows, that should do the trick
I don't know I'm just brainstorming here

I see. I have updated the shadow and shading to make it looks a bit sandy:
It can also look like this:

If it was up to me I’d go with the 2nd one
