There was an auto picker in the snow area that was stealing all the items. I think it was the fake elven because as soon as he left i tested by dropping an item and it didn't disappear.

if cursing is such a big issue on here, why not create a chat filter?

Chat filters don't make much sense in my opinion. They usually only lead to a lot of annoying false positives and people who want to curse will find ways to do it anyway by using leetspeak, interpunctation between letters or other means.

Sorry about that, but i where angry at the autopickers.
I where running around, like many others, and trying to pick up my OWN monster drops... (you get angry in the end)... sorry.. it is not like me at all :oops:

But i hope, like Rockoman suggest, that there will be a filter.

Can see it from your side Crush, we can curse all that we want if we want to. But there is still the need.. i think that at least.

and now that we are talking about friends.. when will the friends list be implementet?

I agree. Duck is a word like any other to express dissatisfaction (if used according to common sense rules). We may say: "oh come one you don't have to swear", but censoring it is silly. Moderators are to set a frontier and watch it, so it will not be crossed.

How about using an "orwellian chat filter".

It detects various words in chat but it doesn't filter them. Instead of that it forwards them to a gm. The gm can then decide if it is a false positive or if it is a reason to act. The list of words (or better: regular expressions) that are filtered are not hardcoded but in a server-sided list so that the players can't find out what's detected and what isn't by checking the server sourcecode. I think this will stop most people from misbehaving because they never know if a rude sentence will be automatically reported to the gms. So they have the constant feel of being under surveillance.

Yeah we can call this "gestapo filter" then -.-

/me would prefer a client-side option to display rude chat messages. (server sends "rude message tags" then
