Ahh, filtering seems nice aswell.
I was thinking of muting certain people of own choice.
I don't want to hear what <PersonA> says (spamming, bad language or whatever reason) so I somehow select <PersonA> and choose <Mute>.
His comments won't show up in my chat window. Would be nice.

An ignore function would be quite nice. Hearing "SALING FUNKY HAT 400K, BYE PLZ!" over and over and over gets really annoying.

Another nice function would be "Away" or "Back in ten min.".Something like the IM have.

I don't like the idea of a chat system that filters out foul language. Players should keep in mind that there are young ones playing this game, and refrain from use of obsessively foul and vulgar language on their own.
Plus, if you faint on mention of foul words then you really shouldn't be playing MMORPGs in the first place. 
My opinion, of course....
I'm all for the idea of a block list addition to the chat system though.
