snowfield & village makeover

Post by 5t3v3 » 04 Jan 2008, 01:12

Hi I tried making the snowfield and village look a bit more natural by getting rid off all the straight walls. Hope you all like it :)
The map is still squared because I tried not to lose space as much as possible.

I've also been working on a replacement for those (and the interior as well as a rearrangement of the tile sets): http://forums.themanaworld.org/viewtopic.php?t=3256.

Sorry, I hadn't seen that thread. Well either way, I read you suggested to keep yours for a new village altogether so I guess it's ok then :)

That's still not what I meant with a proper transition. The first identical point on which a portal could be placed is still too close to the end of the map on both maps. I suggest you to take a look at the woodland maps for a reference how to map the portal areas.

I think the village is raised up too many levels. I really like the new version of the snowfield though.
