That's the usual lurkers to active posters ratio on most public forums.

Forums of games that are in early development usually don't get people posting a lot, and the primary posters are the devs. Actually, TMW has a really active amount of posters compared to a lot of games that are at a similar (if not further) point in the development.

IMO, no. The swords shouldn't be a reason to post something because most of it will be spam then. You should post because it adds something to the discussion, not because you want a better "status".

I think we shouldn't have ranks based on postcount - it makes people behave badly.

I agree with these sentiments completely. I have been on forums where there are "awards" for posting a lot, and users tend to post just for the sake of raising their status. And the posts end up very low quality.
(also I would hide my post count since I think post counts are also somewhat stupid, but I guess these forums don't support that. )

I prefer that these users post nothing instead of creating topics like this.

Or possibly even respond to them eh?
