I tried helping him out by givving him 5 iron ores for 40k since he wanted the knight hat and all he had was 50k

I took him to the guy that made the helmets and he kept dening my trade and finaly he traded but he only gave me 10k bought the hat and ran

Is there any way I could get the money or my ores back? it took forever to get them and i had them saving for my light mail.

Without any kind of proof whatsoever? Not really.

I am not even sure if an action like that should be forbidden by the server rules. When you don't check the amount of money while trading with complete strangers one could say that it's your own fault.

Not against the rules. Thief is RPG character as any other (unless they are exploiting bugs).
