No. The time limit was reduced, thats all. We still need to do some tweaking to the system.

Personally I’d recommend about 10 seconds protection time, while five seconds is more than enough for combatting single mobs it can be a bit short while getting horded by several mobs, particularly so when the client “lagsâ€ÂÂ. Maybe 15 seconds could do as well, but not much more than that. Me thinks.

We have some more mechanics that we might implement as well, like removing protection if they get to far away or leave the map.

Why not do a 'half-life'? If the item will stay around for 60 seconds, have it restricted for 30 seconds and up for grabs for the last 30 seconds.

I was going to suggest the 30s drop protection as well.
Although the item could stay on ground for 2min to 5min in my opinion.

if the protection is long though, it might be helpful to bypass it for teamplay. Perhaps players should be able to put their dropprotection on/off? Or have the ability to form parties...
