I will be playing in full screen and and it will goto window mode and be scrambled or stay in full screen and be scrambled? I had dropped some items when the scrambling accured once and was unable to recover them and lost them. I'm running Ubuntu 8.10

any thoughts.

Edit your config file (~/.tmw/config.xml) and change the value of opengl (if it's 0, make it 1 and vice versa).

That's a really interesting bug. It looks like only some map layers are affected. I wonder what causes it.

Can you reproduce the bug at will?

Can you describe more accurately how it looks animated?

I'm new to Linux, just made the switch from XP. but when I'm playing the screen will start to get black box's or scramble like that. I just reinstalled my system to see if that was the case.

Sounds like the window manager. Certain notifications can cause some window managers to do that.

Technically, KWin is the window manager. But as long as it works.
