A Community Makes Monster Oil

It took the generosity and collective intelligence of a community to make Monster Oil. After many attempts and many deaths of a player named Speedo, last night a group of players gathered around Caul's cauldron celebrated their victory with a little virtual champagne, dancing and a lot of laughs. They took a few seconds to pose for the group photo below.
The quest started several days ago, went into the small hours of the morning and covered close to 6 hours. Many people contributed pearls, snake skins, black scorpion stingers and herbs, as Speedo's supply was consumed. Speedo confessed to being skeptical that the effort would ever be successful. "Death nine times in a row can do that to you", he said. But the enthusiasm and generosity of the collaborators kept him coming back. When they finally succeeded, he could hardly get the words out of his fingers, stumbling to hit the right keys.
"In the end", Speedo said, "it was less about getting the Monster Oil and more about the communal effort and fun of getting through it together." "It's an amazing and bighearted group", he said.
