[FND] rabbit or bunny sprite

Post by Balthazaar » Sun Mar 22, 2009 10:31 pm

The is my first attempt at doing pixel art. Jax said he needed a rabbit made. Hopefully it's not too horrible and can be of some use.

Looks pretty good to me. I think both the bunny and basket needs some shading and the bunny needs more detail.

It looks pretty good for your first pixelart. The basket could some work though. Not only is it missing shading, the perspective could also use some work. The belly should have a lighter colour IMO, because you can't see the handle of the basket right now.

PS: It already looks way better than one of my first pixelart that I drawed: http://wiki.themanaworld.org/index.php/ ... ar_old.png

He's cute! We need more bunnies in the game anyway :D

Great job...some of us wish we could do that...

Thanks for everyone's input it is greatly appreciated. Ok I added some detail to the basket and changed the colors to more Easter like colors as well as added some shading to it. Maybe this can be used as a NPC for an Easter quest or something. If not I understand as this is my first attempt, it is still good practice in case I decide to do more.

The perspective looks off. It should be 45°, but the basked looks head on.

Changed the perspective on the basket some had to adjust colors so it would look correct. Just to clarify you mean 45 degrees looking down right?

Yes. 45° from the plane or straight up (same angle ;)). Reference.

Yes. THe ears could use better blending in with the head. They look like an afterthought.

Hey thanks Jax I didn't notice that till you said it and then it was obvious. It helps to have others input as it gets hard to see some of the issues while your working on it. Ok then I added some pink to the ears which I really thought was a good edition and adjusted the shading to make them flow better. I must admit that that small change makes a world of difference. :)

Thanx Drizak and all for comments and suggestions

Well if anyone doesn't have any other comments or suggestions on it I will change the tag to FND. Also for some reason I posted it in player talk, "my bad" should have been in graphics development, which is where I thought I posted it. LOL. Oh well sorry bout that.

Maybe sometime I'll have to work on a animated version that hops :)

Adjust the feet to be in 45° perspective too? :)
