There are currently no attempts to add more PvP combat to the game, but it is not ruled out that we will do so in the future.
But when we do so the PvP system will certainly not be made in a way which actively supports ganking or includes an obvious way to dupe items.
Apologies to OnymA and Goku who noticed that it was an april fools joke a few minutes after I posted it. I deleted their posts to avoid spoiling the joke for others.
As some have already found out we were developing the new PvP system for months. Tomorrow we will finally implement it on the main server. The system works as follows:
-Players can attack each other everywhere outside of towns.
-When you kill another character in battle you get one KP (kill point) and you may steal one item of your choice from their inventory.
-When multiple characters helped with defeating another character everyone gets one KP and a copy of the stolen item to encourage teamplay.
-When you lose a fight against another player you lose one KP
-To avoid griefplay players which did not move from their position for more than 10 seconds can not be attacked
-100 KP can be exchanged at the bounty hunter chief (northwest of Hurnscald) for one of the following items:
--Goggles
--Leather goggles
--Eyepatch
--Crown
--Cap
--Fake GM Cap
--Desert Bow
