Player Talk Response to this thread from the Court House:

completly in GM type of asking people to answer...

But out of this specific case (so don't take it personnaly kay) i would like to call the attention on:

I mean one thing is to report womeone who has bad words, bad manners. Another one is to report someone possibmy botting (you are innnocent till it is proved you're guilty first statment. second one to me is that justice has to be done by lawmen (GM in game) not by oneself).

I am just imagining every one report this way...

anyway...

I think that kai_62656 reported this bot in an appropriate way and doorsman responded properly in this thread. To my knowledge, this is how it is supposed to work.

that's another point of view

thanks Wombat

ps. i am sure that we all agree that botting is no way playing in tmw.
i am sure there are other ways than create a systematic report mentality in game

are we here to hunt monsters and do quest or are we here to hunt botters ?

that's my question.

I don't think kai was doing anything more than reporting a botter. If they are bot hunting, I'm sure there will be more reports from kai. I personally don't enjoy bot hunting, but I attempted it a couple weeks ago to prove a point. I do report bots when I happen to see them. What's great is that I rarely ever see any bots. :D

I like how it was handled. Thanks Kai. Sure big_gun doesn't have to talk to Kai, that is his right. But if Kai suspects and reports him to a GM, then the GM goes through the procedures, all power to helping the under-powered GMs. If I were Kai, I wouldn't have waited a whole two minutes!

But it is unnecessary to make a series of screenshots and post it. Game Masters don't ban anyone for botting based on second hand evidence. Just reporting the bot with name, time and location is enough to get a game master to investigate.

You can get your exact location with the /where chat command.

By the way: the fastest way to get the attention of a game master is our irc channel #themanaworld on irc.freenode.net. When you post there game masters will be able to respond much faster than when you post on the forum.

There is also a command specificlly for getting in touch with a GM -

It will whisper all online GMs
