Although it is possible I would not recommend to use recolorisation for tilesets. Doing so would make the design process much more difficult and the benefit would be quite low.
The grass animation you made looks very strange. I think you overestimated your skills here.

I don't think we should animate the grass. though a few animated flowers wouldn't hurt IMO.

yea i guess but i wouldn't mind seeing an occasional ripple across the grass every 15m

Recolorable grass is a very inspired idea. Instead of bright green grass/patches dead ending at the desert, it can fade to yellow. I can't think of another direction to go beyond that, though. Each set could just as easily have more improved fading grasslines tiles.
Animated grass seems like a good idea, but I think it just creates too much confusion in the game. I think it would hurt my eyes, especially when my character is running, it will look as though he is speeding up and slowing down. A few animated weeds or tall grass is a better idea.
Great work still, Meway. Maybe grey set can be carpet

It doesn't work that way. You would have to make the fading very VERY smooth when you don't want to have visible lines between tiles. And this would eat a ton of ram because you would have like 100 versions of the same tileset in memory.

I like the idea of animated grass, but your version is too active, and too bright

Also the segment size chosen for the animation is far too small.
Perhaps you can come back to this topic in a few years?

The animated grass makes me seasick. I'd hate to play in Woodland with that going on ...
Perhaps a very long animation -- someone suggested 15m. Maybe an occasional ( >5m) ripple through the grass as a breeze goes over.
What other colours would you make grass? Or do you just mean various shades of green to randomize it more? I like the idea of "more randomer" grass. Some of the existing maps look odd in some areas with just one tile repeated everywhere.

Or sooner but really ignore that stupid little gif up there. Take in some imagination and imagine a ripple going across a big field of grass. This is not a constant act as shown in the gif up there. messed up on somethings makes my eyes hurt to lol
i will remake it to a nice calm satisfactory state.

I would really like the grass in the woodland tileset to be recoloured to match the trees (or vice versa). The newer bits of that tileset still look out of place to me.
