I know that when a player is poisoned there are green bubble above their head and a symbol shows up next to your hp. When using the potion to stop the affect of the poison is used another symbol shows next to the poison symbol. When the potion wears off you don't always notice the symbol disappearing until your hp starts to drop.
Would it be possible to change the green bubbles to another color when you use the potion to stop the poison? At least that would be a visual effect as it is right above your avatar.

That's actually a very good suggestion, possible a light shade of green is suitable, however, it wont help players with particle effects disabled, so the status icon should stay. We can expand on that train of thought and replace the poison status icon with one that is similar to the original but with a rotating hourglass embedded in it. I have an idea for an animation which I will follow up on. The bonus side effect of this method is to allow other players to see if you have taken the slow poison cure.

Specifically useful for priority scheduling for healing mages in a group scenario.

How about we use both Freeyorp and Modanung's icons? Freeyorp's could be the one displayed by the hp bar, and Modanung's could replace the poison particle that goes above the player's head.

If we animate the hourglass, definitely overhead particle material.
