[WIP] manazipper

Starting with a rough sketch of a "manazipper", which I envision attacking magic points. I want it to "zip" around the screen, a hard to hit monster with normal attacks, but extremely vulnerable to flare dart and lightning. A 40-50+ monster that may drop tiny mana potions when destroyed. I think it would fit into a forest map not created yet that has something to do with magic. Current concern is the size...should I aim for a smaller sketch or is its size appropriate for a faster than character movement?

Smaller version, to give an idea if I did it smaller. I think I like it smaller, though it wouldn't have as much detail.

Just have the body and the wings for now and do a full animation sketch of it.

Simple 4 frame animation with 80 millisecond delay. The speed seems messed up for some odd reason on one of them. Not sure why.

Nice. Could perhaps bob a bit more up and down.

I find the big eyewhites disturbing and static. Also, pure white?

Also note that sprites must have a dark (not black!) outline.

Here goes a more detailed body facing full left. I changed the eye to orange w/out detail, which could leave it open to becoming more buglike. I did not add a pointed nose nor wings to make sure the shape is better.

I liked the big nose it had in your vary first draft...

@ the eyes...Perhaps you could off white the eyes? I wouldn't go Grey though more to the super light Yellow... Also I think bugs need BIG eyes, like you had them before you recolored them.. makes them more bug like.

Keep it up, looks good.

Animationwise, the center position should probably not face the player like that: it causes a noticeable "bright spot" there.
