As for not committing anything new, I guess we could ignore all the work he did on the Grave Yard tile set.
And what else has he committed in the past year that wasn't made by him?
As for my experiences with Crush I would have to say that he is the person who has given me the most helpful advice to making my art look better and improve my skills over the time I have been here.
Hence artists helping artists.
Lazy bum.

Hi Rotonen,
Rotonen wrote: With this I agree. Perhaps a sub-forum of GFX dev to which only a selected few can post, but everyone can read it? (At the moment about 70% of the time I spend on TMW is spent deleting posts from GFX dev. I do spend 10h+ weekly trying to provide a platform on which to build, so it is getting very tiring. Also if I'm not there to moderate for a while, things usually go haywire.)
 I understand fairly. I'm eager to see that new section. Do you have to ask Platyna or someone in particular?
Rotonen wrote: We have Fother working on that, but in the current environment he is too afraid to post any progress publicly to avoid being chewed by the community.
 Well, here is your first protected subject. :D My thought is that trolls will always be able to create a thread in another forum subject to chew anybody's work. then, I'm even for GFX threads that can only viewed by trustworthy GFX art makers, and where (obvioulsy), they're the only ones to post things.
Rotonen wrote: From the viewing point of designing landscape, not much. From the viewing point of designing cities and equipment: culture. As in what countries are out there.

John P is the author here. So far we have a collection of ideas and at least I'm rather clueless about which of those to combine into something sensible and usable for long term development and expansion.
 Don't forget to include a backstory subthread in your protected section
My humble thought about it. Conceptual arts feed backstory and culture design ideas, and vice versa.
Caring about conceptual art, I would say that we can always have links in our section leading to other helping images, even copyrighted, as long as nobody claims it's ours. If it can speed up things, or at least focus them...
Rotonen wrote: I would let this be for the current server and just sensibly build up the TMWServ content, starting up from the tutorial island. We're planning on controlledly releasing content for TMWServ with level caps bit-by-bit so this is the approach I'm recommending. Much less work than trying to salvage the eAthena based effort which has no long term future to begin with. It has done a good job of attracting testers for the client technology.
 I'm glad to read this. You have my full support.
Rotonen wrote: I've lately been interested in organization again due to TMWServ looming closer (or so they tell me).
 We're not that far. There's quite some work left, but we're not that far...
Rotonen wrote: AFAIK I have that. The trick is in getting non-technical artists to go along with it. Mostly they cannot be arsed with it and see it as administrational overhead which has nothing to do with them. For this we need someone to act in-between and I don't have the time to run after every single piece of art. Wombat so far has offered to act as something of sorts to fit the role.
 I've seen Wombat contribution in Mantis and they're greatly appreciated. I'll take my chance to say that decisions upon pieces of art are to be made upon the following mantis, could you give your word on these?
- 0000014: Add a staff weapon: Decide if that piece of art is worth committing.
- 0000060: Create player templates: Maybe a reference folder is to be made in tmwart repository. That is to be decided.
- 0000100: New arena set: Are the excellent work from irukard suitable to be committed? (Even if it is still being improved by irukard)
- 0000389: Knive Icon: Is that icon suitable to be committed?
- 0000738: Rothead zombie sound effects: Are these suitable to be committed?
- 0000740: Replacement of the current herb monster: Idem
- 0000741: Wisp Monster: idem
- 0000742: Gold Helmets: idem
- 0000801: 2009/07/29: Art [FND] Digest: Could you have a look upon this?

Thanks again Rotonen.

Letting go of the past will help here. Let's not get stuck on that. You can hold your grudge as long as you don't show it. Change has been promised and from now on innocent until proven guilty.

In advance, sorry to answer here, but it's uttermost better place to answer while you're on it:

Questions to answers on mantis 14 and 801 for you...

http://mantis.themanaworld.org/view.php?id=801

Also, I saw your [REQ] for the forest tileset, humm, why not making one for the dried river tileset?

Why not keep back story on the wiki where it's far easier to organize and such?

Also if the backstory is the dictatorship of one author it might finally actually get done.
