Hello all,

i bought from Tapion a "Unknow item".What is that a item.And for what is that item?

Exactly what it says on the tin: An item with an ID number not listed in your items.xml and thus your client doesn't know how to display it.

Assuming that your updating ran properly and the item is shown as "Unknown Item" for everyone else too, it would be interesting to know how it got into the game because it is most likely due to a bug.

Also, please search the file .tmw/ tmw.log in your user directory for the line "ItemDB: Warning, unknown item ID#" and post the item number. This might help us to pinpoint the bug.

I don't find the number.I think that is a bug.But i hope that is not a bug .I bought that from Tapion .

Long ago a small number of unknown items was released into the game due to a faulty drop, I think they have id 999 or was it 9999 or maybe -1, anywho, it was decided at the time to let it slide and let people have it as a rare. We do however not plan to repeat this, but who knows, human error might some day re-introduce it, but don't count on it

Might become interesting when we reuse the ID for some new item one day. Could be an insanely rare and powerful item... or just a 10 GP vendor trash drop.

Item -1 would show up as a hairstyle (flat ponytail).

I have one of these I believe my item number is 901

755-1198 has an #ID gap in item_db.txt and no items that share any numbers in between here have been identified yet.

I got an item like a small block from the monster points reward quest...

Well, I am not sure when it will become an useable item or a quest item, but I will just keep it in my storage
