How is the arena? Is it fun? Is it boring?
Please explain.

I think so, too.t3st3r wrote:I dislike current PvP implementation. It's quite boring...
I can admit the following:
1) PvP is not seems to be well-balanced yet, actually.
2) Killing someone in PvP fight grants no benefits, as well as death does not causes any losses. Winner not even gains XP, that's quite boring. I can suggest at least subtract some XP from loser and grant some XP to winner (to discourage frequent and numerous PvP loses).
3) It could be interesting idea if PvP allowed on some maps to add more fun and surprises to "unaware travellers". It's quite boring if almost all places except of very few are completely safe. At least some not-so-safe places should exist as well IMHO. Surely they should not be located in newbie areas or in towns, etc.

+1 to this, at least it will be a bit less boring. Though all this will require PvP re-balancing so archers, warriors and mages of same levels should have somewhat comparable chances to kill each other.Leela wrote:Just at the moment it's quite boring
1) World is not a completely safe place, after all. It will be much better if people will learn this fact in game where they can have only virtual losses (unless they were extremly stupid). Or maybe you rather prefer same people to learn same hard lessons in real life instead? In real life same stupid actions like unconditional trust to a questionable person will usally have much worse consequeces. So as for me, it's better if people will rather learn some things in game rather than in real life. Should I admit that in real life you can't respawn or call all-mighty GMs?tapion wrote:its not a good idea.Players can open new players and kill them for items.I think the player that dies mus be level 50+ to drop something and give xp
You can avoid being scammed/hacked/whatever if you apply a bit of common sense. If the game itself gives me more grief than being very careful with people does, it's not worth playing. People play games as an escape, not as a training for real life.t3st3r wrote:1) World is not a completely safe place, after all. 2) There are/were much worse things in game: scamming, manipulation, etc - up to account hacking and total character deletions. Surely, just one or few random deaths (without great losses) is not worse thing you can encounter in game.
Eh, I see one or two things happening if this is the case:Leela wrote: I think so, too.
I also have an idea. Someone who dies in pvp automatically drops some random item (not questitems) and the one who killed gets the number of xp the dead player lost as hp... confusing. here the example. player A has 600 hp. Player B kills him and gets 600 xp + a random drop.
I think this would make it more interesting for everyone. Just it would be very annoying for those who lose some really good stuff. for example rare hats or colored clothes. so maybe the drop should not be clothes or armour. Don't know... if it's no armour and clothes at all it could be more then one drop if you die.
about number 3: I also think PvP could be interesting on some maps. in the mines for example. not at at places that are too problematic for that e.g. Jack0 platform, skull room, sandstorm desert, towns, snake pit etc... What about testing a "new" PvP system in the Arena with a warning that you can lose stuff if you die?
Just at the moment it's quite boring
You seriously underestimate some people. That's could play a bad joke for you sometimes. And you will be very lucky if this will be just a game and not a real life.Fluffers wrote:You can avoid being scammed/hacked/whatever if you apply a bit of common sense.
But people are the same, you can't escape them. Sad but true. It's just same people you can encounter anywhere else. Maybe a bit better in average due to some reasons, but...If the game itself gives me more grief than being very careful with people does, it's not worth playing.
