Not only should wane be unbanned. I think a public apology is inorder from Doulos and maybe a more seasoned GM such as Katze can explain proper GM conduct to Doulos.

Agreed, and people should express their displeasure in this abuse..
As for the Katze explaining......she would actually have to understand the concept of fairness.

wane should stay banned. he was botting (place does not matter), programmed, not holding 2 keys <_< and IMO he is already very lucky that there is still a reset option for him.

Does things, does not respond to chat or query in a sensible and human way -> ban.

Simple, isn't it?

Than ban confused tree

it is exactly the same thing and seriously in no way is wane gaining from the situation its costing him. He should be thanked not banned.

Under that definition then Tradebot and confused tree should also be banned.

HELLO, he is in town, helping people and not getting any xp, therefore no disernable advantage over others.

Obvioulsy the D'Berry infection has spread.

Someone battling is gaining from his automation -> ban. I would personally also ban the people benefiting from the healing just as I would ban people exploiting any bugs.

Who is gaining from the silly tree? AFAIK no one. People seem to have fun with it and that is the point and full extent of it.

Tradebot on the other hand is a service which helps trading.

If some people so desire, we can ban all bots and actively make things less fun and convenient for you. Up to you as a community.

Comment from my side. Couldn't this trading and responding stuff (Tradebot and Tree) be done by an NPC? I doubt that it is harder to set up such an NPC then setting up a bot for it.

Effect:
- no bots anymore
- fun is still in the game

Just my opinion.

Greetings,
Dicekid

That seems logical. EDIT: But in the mean time favourites should not be played. If one person is allowed to have a bot than so should anyone else who so does desire.

a trading npc is harder to make. someone who heals is not.

Trade bot should stay. It gains nothing for what it does.

Wane should be unbanned because Confused Tree was not banned for doing the same thing BEFORE it was considered an approved bot.

Then what about unbanning wane, adding a npc who heals, and the next bot (even if it is "just" healing"), gets a perm ban?

Tradebot should stay because it is almost not replaceable with a npc in eathena.

I was not informed of the tree thingamabob doing healing: I was under the impression it chats back to you in the way some silly IRC bots do. Healing bots in towns reduce the intended downtime and/or cost resulting from death -> the tree either changes or goes.
